The Exams 🍋

The next day Yuki put her mind to work focusing on the exams. The demanding time limits kept her distracted from thoughts of the night before.

Classes ended a little early and the students were instructed to return later that evening to view their scores. The professors would use the time between day and night class to grade the exams and post the results in the hall. Since the Night Class would be inside taking their exams, the Disciplinary Committee would be in charge of making sure they were uninterrupted by the Day Class students.

Zero was already gone by the time Yuki turned in her final paper, and although she had wanted to meet up with him this also gave her more time to think. Yuki went and sat under the tree in the courtyard and finally let herself reflect on the night before.

She had kissed Zero. And she enjoyed it. She hadnt felt uncomfortable at all, unlike how she felt when Kaname kissed her. Why did she feel so uncomfortable with Kaname? She had loved him for as long as she could remember. Did she love Zero?

She thought about the times they spent together, and how he teased her. His teasing annoyed her but she was never truly mad. And he didnt tease her the way Kaname had that one night.. Zero's teasing way playful and not meant to scare her or make her feel guilty.

But she couldn't just go on kissing both of them. She wasnt sure if Zero loved her, but she knew she couldn't continue to date Kaname. She would have to figure out how to break up with him.

"Oh but the dance!" She said aloud.

It would be bad timing to break up with him during the ball and to make things awkward in front of everyone. She would have to do it after.

When the time came Yuki headed to gates to keep the peace between the Day and Night class students. Zero had reappeared and seemed to be avoiding her, keeping his focus on the crazed students. Being so close to the ball had them all wound up.

As the Night Class proceeded, screams of fury erupted and Yuki turned her head to notice the cause. Hanabusa Aido was handing Yori a white rose, and formally asking her to be his date to the ball. Zero stepped closer to guard Yori from the jealous Day Class students.

Kaname brought up the rear of the group and chose to ignore Hanabusa's display as he approached Yuki.

Yuki gave a polite smile as she waited for his greeting  but was taken aback when he leaned forward and kissed her on the lips in front of the whole school. The screams of jealousy intensified. 

Yuki didnt notice the eye contact Kaname made with Zero as he did this, reminding the other boy that she was his. Her eyes were solely on Zero, gauging his reaction. His jaw tightened in annoyance and he looked away, shooing the Day Class students away.

"I can't wait to see you at the dance tomorrow night. I'll pick you up outside of your dorm." Kaname said before walking away. Yuki felt her heart pang with disappointment.

"O-ok." She said "I'll see you tomorrow."

After the Night Class was securely locked away to do take their first round of exams, Yuki and the other students rushed to check their scores.

"I got an A!" Yuki squealed, jumping up and down, locking arms with her best friend.

"Wow go you! You must have studied really hard." Yori noted.

Yuki was suddenly self conscious as she remembered her last study session.

"Yup. Um, I'm going to head back and take a bath, I want to have plenty of time to get ready tomorrow." Yuki broke away from the embrace.

"Ok, I'm going to see how the rest of the class did, I'll be back later." Yori told her.

Yuki made it back to her dorm and started her bath, letting her mind replay the night before with Zero. She sunk into the warm bubbles and leaned her head back on the edge of the tub with her eyes closed.

She remembered how his lips burned against her skin as he kissed her, and her hand absently touched the mark that he left on her chest. She remembered the weight of him against her as he leaned over her on her bed, she remembered where his inner thigh touched her leg. His other knee was bent on the opposite side of her, supporting the rest of his weight. 

She remembered the heat pooling in her center and how her fingers twisted into his hair, wanting to pull him closer. And the low masculine sound that came from his throat, sending a thrill of excitement through her as she arched her back, releasing a sound of her own. Then she remembered her inner thigh brushing against the stiffness that he quickly pulled away. 

She touched her thigh absently, remembering the contact, and started to imagine if it had played out differently. She imagined pulling him back down, and feeling him hard against her again. Her hands started to imitate the contact and she slipped lower into the tub, the sounds of water splashing onto the floor.

Her eyes fluttered open. Omg what am I doing! I cant be doing this right now.

Yuki chastised herself as she got out of the bath and got dressed. She should be thinking of how to break up with Kaname, not daydreaming about Zero.

She climbed in bed and went to sleep, trying to avoid conversation with Yori who would surely want to talk about their dates to the ball.
