The Chairman returned with her tea and Yuki sat up, taking the cup in both hands and blowing away the steam rising from the top. She took a sip and let the warm Chamomile work its magic. She listened as the Chairman chattered idly for hours about his various hobbies and school. business while munching on the various snack and treats he brought her in lieu of dinner. As it grew late Yuki thanked him for the tea and headed for the door.

She pulled the heavy wooden door open to reveal Zero standing outside with his hand reaching toward the handle. "Zero, you startled me. What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I came to check on you, and make sure you were safe after the other night. Let me walk you back to your dorms," She smiled at his offer, then he continued, "and make sure you dont wander off again." She gave him a half-hearted shove, before following him outside.

Zero finished his nightly rounds and made his way to the home of Chairman Cross to check that Yuki hadnt run off again. He had seen the red glow in Hanabusa's eyes the night before when he had ahold of Yuki in the woods. The vampire was being reckless, letting his thirst for blood dominate his better senses. Zero didnt trust that it wouldnt happen again.

He stood on the steps of the Cross residence and reached for the door, only to have it swing inward as someone from the other side pulled it open. He recognized her scent before the light even revealed her small frame in the doorway. She always smelled nice, but tonight she smelled more.. just more like Yuki.

"I came to check on you, and make sure you were safe after the other night. Let me walk you back to your dorms... and make sure you dont wander off again." His offer was met with a playful shove, to which he pretended to budge just slightly. Truthfully it would have taken much more than that to phase him.

The pair walked slowly toward the dorm buildings, no need to hurry between the short distance. Yuki's face was still flushed from the warmth of the tea and he could hear the blood softly pulsing behind her pale skin. A small pang of hunger hit him and he grabbed her hand pulling her more quickly toward their destination.

"Hurry up it's getting late," he huffed, "you can't over sleep again." Yuki wasn't aware that he was hiding a secret. Zero was a vampire too, but unlike her beloved Lord Kaname he wasnt a pureblood or an aristocrat. Zero was a human that had been bitten and turned when the pureblood vampire, Shizuka Hio murdered his parents.

"Wait, slow down! You dont have to drag me I'm-" Yuki's foot caught a loose brick and sent her crashing forward. Zero quickly turned to catch her, and she slammed into his chest, her hands clinging to the front of his shirt. Her hot breath seeped through his shirt as she panted, trying to catch her breath. Her sudden closeness flooded his senses and he felt the change in his face, as his eyes reddened and his fangs started to grow.

She went to pull away and he wrapped his arms around her, keeping her close to his chest. If she stepped back now she would notice the sinister difference in his features and his secret would be out. He blocked out everything and tried to focus on returning to his normal state. "Zero?" He heard her voice question as he felt himself calm.

He released her from his arms and turned away to head towards the boys dormitory. "We're here Yuki, go on inside and head to bed."

××××××××××××Yuki's POV×××××××××××

Zero had begun dragging her down the sidewalk in a sudden hurry to get her back to her dorm. She tried to hurry but her short legs couldnt keep up with his long ones. She felt the toe of her shoe catch on something and she stumbled forward. Somehow Zero's fantastic reflexes allowed him to turn and catch her just in time as she crashed forward into his solid frame.

Her face was buried in his chest and she tried to catch her breath and balance, the fabric of his shirt bunched tightly in her fists. The headmasters chamomile tea was affecting her, making her a bit sleepy and her mind all swirly. She went to straighten herself back up when Zero's strong arms tightened around her, holding her in the sudden embrace.

"Zero?" She asked. A gentle blush forming in her cheeks. This was unusual behavior for him. She inhaled a pleasant earthy smell emanating from him and tried to name it. Before she could think too deeply on the reasoning behind him holding onto her, he let go and parted ways after instructing her to get to bed. The tea is making me groggy. She thought. Dont read into it he was just making sure you were balanced. She reassured the butterflies that had started to swarm in her stomach.

Yuki went upstairs and gathered her things for a quick shower. She stepped under the hot flow of water and let the last bit of tension in her body wash away. She cupped a small puddle of Lavender shampoo and worked it through her hair massaging her scalp with her finger tips. As the Steam clouded the shower she closed her eyes and let her mind wander back to her evening walk with Zero.

It was such a simple thing, and the embrace only lasted a few seconds. Although she must admit she wouldn't have minded if it had lasted longer. She felt safe in his arms. He was comforting and familiar. She imagined him holding her there longer, her face nuzzled in his chest, breathing him in. She thought back to the earthy smell. Sandalwood and hay, she guessed. She imagined him running his fingers through her hair, warmth spread across her face and in the pit of her stomach.

I shouldnt think that way about Zero. After all I'm sure he doesnt feel that way about me at all. Besides, I'm in love with Kaname..

Yuki ended her shower and finally went to bed. This time it wasn't nightmares forcing their way into her subconscious. It was two boys. One dark haired and one silver.

Ooooh, obviously Yuki is starting to notice some feelings about Zero, but is he gonna feel the same way? Or is it just bloodlust that's on his mind. I dont actually know if anyone is reading this I'm pretty sure the view count goes up every time I review it so stop and say hi or hit "favorite" to let me know you're here!

Also I'm trying to meet at least 1000 word count per part but if it's still too short let me know, should I merge some parts together into one chapter or is this fine? The writing always feels longer than reading it lol. <3
