××××××××××××Yuki's POV ×××××××××××

"Kaname?" She greeted the familiar figure in the doorway. Suddenly very aware of the scene he had walked into and how likely it was to be misread, Yuki stood quickly and stepped forward, her thoughts scrambling for an explanation that didnt reaveal Zeros condition and the fact that he had bitten her.

"Zero missed class today and I was worried about him so I came looking to see what was wrong. When I found him he looked unwell so I- oh!" She gasped as Kaname's hand reached out and tugged at the ribbon on her neck, causing the bow to unravel and the ribbon to glide down onto the floor. Her hand shot up to cover the evidence, but he caught it with his own and quickly inspected the damage before turning his piercing gaze on to Zero.

The silver haired boy stood up from his spot on the floor, eyes glaring at the pureblood with a deep hatred. 
Kaname spoke to him with equal venom. "You've been feeding on Yuki. Was that your intentions just now? Is that why you lured her here?" He accused. "I should kill you where you stand."

"No, Kaname," Yuki place her hands on his chest, stepping between the two vampires. "That's not what happened, well once, but that was an accident! I wasn't careful, but now that I know I will be. I promise, please." she pleaded. "He's not dangerous and he didnt lure me here. I really did come to check on him. And he didnt harm me this time, or even try to. I trust him."

Kaname's anger softened into sadness as he turned his eyes on her, "But can I trust you Yuki? Do you promise to never lie to me. I cannot protect you if you hide secrets from me."

She glanced back at Zero, seeing the dejected look returning to his eyes. Then she looked back up into the eyes of the man in front of her. "Yes," she lied.

××××××××××Zero's POV×××××××××××××

Kaname turned his attention to Zero once again, "you're lucky I care for her and dont want to hurt her by bringing harm to you. But if I find out you've attacked her again, I cant promise that I will be able to exercise the same restraint, Kiryu." The pureblood pulled Yuki to his side with one arm and guided her out the door, but not before sending a well placed glance back at Zero as he softly kissed the top of her head.

As the door shut behind them Zero seethed in anger. That bastard.. he thought.

A sudden smugness over came him at the thought of the pureblood. Zero had something that he was certain Kuran did not. He had tasted Yuki's blood. And what a marvelous taste it was.  And the small, almost brotherly kiss atop her head fell short to deep embrace that Kuran had interrupted. 

Zero leaned back onto his bed, and mused about his new closeness with Yuki. She may think she is in love with the arrogant pureblood, but Zero wanted to test that faith. He wanted to know if she felt the same desire swelling in the pit of her stomach that he did everytime they found themselves so close to one another.  He closed his eyes and imagined her still in his arms, the sound of her breath in the bed next to him. For once, he drifted to sleep with a smile on his face.

×××××××××××Yuki's POV××××××××××××

Yuki followed Kaname down the stairs and around the corner away from the boys dorm. Before turning to go to her own room she stopped to say goodnight to him, hesitating to think of how she should apologize again.

"Yuki." Kaname said with a pensive look on his face.  "Why dont you come to the moon dorms with me, so we can better discuss what has happened."

Yuki gulped anxiously, "But what about your classes kaname?"

"It will be safer for you to be at the moon dorms while the others are away at class, and your safety is of the utmost importance to me Yuki, class can wait."

Yuki nodded and followed the beautiful yet intimidating vampire to his dorm in silence, her thoughts racing with the many different ways the conversation would go. Will he be angry with me? Will he make more threats about Zero?

The pair entered through the doors into the sitting room, and Kaname took a seat in the arm chair and gestured at the chaise lounge beside him. "Please have a seat Yuki." She could not detect the tone in his voice, and the uncertainty of his feeling made her uneasy.

"Kaname, what happened with Zero was an accident, I didnt know he was a vampire! I will be more careful around him next time I promise. I'm so sorry."

"Yuki..." Kaname sighed, "dont be sorry. It is my fault. Chairman Cross and myself were both aware of Zero's condition. I should have done more to protect you, to make sure no harm would come to you." His gaze softened and Yuki felt relief that he wasnt angry with her.

"Its ok, I'm fine really." Yuki reassured him, smiling warmly.

"Oh Yuki, always so cheerful and kind.  I want you to always stay this way, let me protect you.  I know some of the night class have been hostile toward you, but if you stay by my side they will protect you with their lives." He stood and placed his hand on the arm of her seat, gazing thoughtfully into her bright and curious eyes. "Would you be my lover, Yuki?"

Yuki gasped and a warm blush spread quickly across her cheeks.  She had only ever imagined this moment. She wanted to pinch herself to be sure it wasnt a dream.  She stared wide-eyed at the beautiful man in front of her. She felt the silence between them going longer and she shakily breathes her answer, "yes."

Kaname reached a hand to her face and brought her chin up with long delicate fingers. "Good." He replied and quickly lowered his face to hers, placing a chaste kiss on her suprised lips. 

As brief as the kiss was, her heart fluttered as the blush on her cheeks reddened further. Before she could think of a response, the vampire offered her his hand which she took timidly.

"Come, let us get you back to your dorms Yuki, it is time for you to get some sleep." This time as they walked, her hand remained in his, and the flame in her cheeks remained as he bade her goodnight at her door.

I've been taking a break for a few days trying to get inspired for the next chapter. So far my story isnt showing up in search, for me anyway so I guess it's not urgent lol. But, if you DO happen to see this please drop a comment, I'd like to know how you found my story. Or just say hi :) maybe I'll get motivated enough to crank out a few more chapters ;) <3
