A Date?

Yuki yawned lazily as she woke up to the sunlit room.  It was the weekend so she was free to do as she pleased.  She hopped cheerfully out of bed and changed out of her night clothes. She made the usual amount of effort. Just brushing her teeth and combing her hair, not making a fuss over style or makeup. What shall I do today?  She wondered before making her way outside to go roam the gardens outside of the main building.  Despite her best efforts at sleeping in, it was still fairly early in the morning, a crisp morning chill raised goosebumps on her arms. Maybe she would run into Yori soon.

Yuki sat on the grass in front of a tree and leaned back into its bark, closing her eyes and listening to the birdsong.  She imagined she was a bird, diving through the clouds, seeing the school from way up high.

"Hello Yuki." A voice startled her and she opened her eyes. A beautiful face stared down at her.

"K-Kaname. What are you doing about during the day?" She stuttered, jumping up from her spot on the ground. Vampires were able to go out into the sun, but it caused discomfort and weakened them over an extended time.

"You weren't there during class change last night.  I was worried about you so I stayed awake to see if you were ok. I missed seeing you" he added, his words soft and melodic.

"Oh. You, missed me?" Yuki asked, her cheeks turning pink.

Kaname grinned. "Why dont you come by the moon dorms this evening  after I've had some rest. I would like to spend more time with you, and introduce you better to the night class students. As school guardian it would be good for you to become more aquainted."

Her heart thumped loudly in her chest. Part excitement at the invitation, part nervousness at the prospect of being around a bunch of vampires at night.  "Of course, that sounds great. I'll be there." She agreed feebly. Kaname reached down and grabbed her hand in his and brought it to his lips. Yuki held her breath as he slowly placed a kiss on the delicate flesh. 

"I'll see you then," he whispered. "Its a date." The dark haired vampire winked at the lovestruck girl and disappeared down the path to the moon dorms.

A DATE?? Yuki screamed internally. Oh my goodness I need to find Yori!

Yuki paced the entire Academy trying to with no luck to find her friend. She was about to give up and go back to the dorms when something made her decide at the last minute to go check the stables.  

×××××××××××Zero's POV××××××××××××

Zero leaned against a post in the stall with a solid white mare named Lily. The horse nuzzled his shoulder and he reached his hand up to stroke her forehead and behind her ears.  He came out here to be alone. His hunger was making him irritable and the blood tablets seemed to be becoming less effective.  This was one of the more peaceful places to spend time on campus, without running into other students. Especially the nocturnal ones.

He heard heavy panting coming up alongside the stables and walked around to see who was disturbing his alone time. A very out of breath Yuki stood leaning with one hand pressed against the stable wall.  "Is everything alright?" He questioned.

"I- oh, yeah everything's fine. I was just trying to find Yori. Have you seen her? I wanted to tell her... something"

Zero noticed her eyes flick to the ground as she said something, but at the moment he couldnt be bothered to pry. He was irritated that she had interrupted his peaceful afternoon, and her racing heartbeat teased at his hunger that he had been fighting to ignore.

He stepped up to her, leaning in with both hands on the wall behind her, pinning her between himself and the stables. He heard her inhale sharply as she shrank back as far as the space would allow.  The burning in his stomach started to grow and he brought his face down next to hers.
