Tale of a Short Warrior [Eijiro Kirishima x OC]

Obstacle Race

Mightnight yells start to announce the start of the race where we all start running forward.

The middle of the tunnel was packed so I was being pushed and shoved which was worst than the time the hallway was packed but Im on my own this time with no one to give me a lift like the past few times since were all competing against each other so I activate my scales as a safety precaution in case I get trampled on since they act as an armor for me then I take a deep breath in any spaces I could find and slip through so Id be able to make it without getting lightheaded from breathing in a lot of exhausted air down here, on top of that use all my strength to squeeze through the crowd to move forward.

I finally make it through the crowd to the course which felt good to finally be able to breath fresh air and be free from being compressed as well as deactivate my scales, I feel a cold breeze where suddenly my feet couldnt move so I look down to see me together with many people were frozen in place then I see Todoroki running ahead of us. Luckily I have a fire based quirk so I breath fire to my feet where luckily my shoes are fire proof and anti slip too, thanks to Dad for giving those to me as a gift for getting into UA.

*Flashback to last night*
Dad: Wear those special shoes I gave you and not your silly ones with those designs you like or with wedges
Me: My other shoes are just as comfortable
Dad: Its not about the comfort, you dont know what the courses are for the sports festival as well as what other peoples quirks you will be involved with
Me: *thinking* those shoes are not my type which is why I dont really wear them but I should listen to Dad since he knows best
(the shoes)

Me: Ok I will wear them
*End of flash back*

I say "nice try Todoroki" then continue running together with a few others who were able to escape Todoroki's trap. As I was about to catch up with Todoroki giant robots appear in front of me and everyone else behind me where they say "target...lots of them", President Mic who is the announcer of this event says "the suddenl appearance of obstacles, now to begin with the first barrier. Robo Inferno". which leaves everyone frozen in shock since there is a lot of them.

Todoroki then freezes the robots where someone says that we can go through the legs but Todoroki says "dont, I froze them in an unbalanced position" so I say "lets see about that" where I activate my scales and dragon eyes to see through the frozen fog while breathing a stream of fire ahead of me to clear the path.

President Mic: Ryuzetsu Yuhi, Quirk: Dragon
She can do what a dragon can do which includes breathing fire and she has scales and claws like a dragon

True enough the robots began to collapse but luckily I was able to slip through without getting crushed since I could see through the fog knowing where the debris will be falling.

President Mic announces "Todoroki from class 1-A attacked and defended at once, how cool. Wow he is the first to pass through it seems unfair. As expected of a student whose admission was through recommendation. An elite who is not fazed by the Robo Inferno he has not fought before". I run through the cloud of dust left behind where before I make it though I hear President Mic announce "wait there is someone else who could it be" where when I make it through to be visible he says "its Ryuzetsu also from class 1-A also admitted through recommendation, the perk of her petite stature is she can slip through obstacles like the Robo Inferno" which got me thinking that everyone notices my height which is annoying but at least there are perks to it like now.

As Im running ahead I reach the next stage which a canyon with only ropes in between as a means of getting through which President Mic announces is called The Fall where falling into the depths will disqualify you which makes me gulp in nervousness. I activate my scales on both my hands to give me a better grip then I hold on to the rope with my feet crossed over each other over the rope where I pull myself through resting in between the platforms. I notice Todoroki is easily going through with his ice quirk while Bakugou is flying through the air with his explosions which shows me Im not only competing with Todoroki for now, eventually the others start to catch up.

I continue running ahead after where I head another announcement from President Mic regarding the final stage of the race which is a minefield but the mines are used for competition so theyre not that powerful but the sight and sound of them will be flashy which may be shocking to some. I then arrive to see Todoroki and Bakugou already there so I activate my dragon eyes so I can see the location of the mines on the ground more clearly where I run through.

I finally catch up to Todoroki and Bakugou trying to get ahead by attacking each other with their quirks where I breath fire to a mine near them in hopes of slowing them down which blows them aside but before I could get ahead of them it ends up with me getting caught in their fight to get ahead where Bakugou pushes me back me back saying "out of my way Lizard" while Todoroki tries to freeze me in place while trying to freeze Bakugou at the same time but I counter his attack igniting my hands on fire as I set off mines around them with my fire breath.

President Mic then announces "Bakugou, Todoroki and Ryuzetsu are in the lead, they are almost past the last barrier" where Im thinking I still have a chance to beat Bakugou here but that was jinxed where I hear an explosion followed by Midoriya flying through the air with a metal scrap from the robots earlier where me, Todoroki and Bakugou stop our competition to get ahead to watch Midoriya take the lead. This angers Bakugou who flies ahead of us with his quirk in hopes of beating Midoriya this time.

Todoroki then creates a path of ice while I breath a stream of fire to clear the path ahead of me where Todoroki creates an ice wall between us to avoid getting caught in the blast. Me and Todoroki eventually catch up to Bakugou and Midoriya but just our luck Midoriya hits the ground with his metal scrap setting off an explosion, this is karma for earlier, but this doesnt stop us as we are still fired up to get ahead.

Finally we reach the end of the race where we make it through the tunnel back to the stadium with Midoriya making it through first followed by Todoroki, Bakugou, me then the rest after us. I was heavy breathing from exhaustion since I used all my effort to run in hopes of trying to beat Bakugou especially but at least I came in 4th place which isnt so bad. It relieved me when Midnight announced that only the first 42 people who made it out can make it to the next round which means at the very least Im still in meaning I have a chance to shine.
