Sometimes it's the simplest things that offer the biggest reward. Stopping and smelling the flowers, opening the windows to let in a breeze on a nice day, a hug from a dear friend after a long week. I would like to make it known that Sebastian does in fact give the best hugs. Especially when he knows someone is feeling down. At the end of an emotionally taxing week of filming, all I wanted was a hug. He was more than happy to oblige. His mother did a fantastic job of raising him to be a sweet, caring and kind individual. I would be sure to thank her for that later.
I know what you're probably thinking. A childish retort of a "kick me" sign on his back. No, that sort of thing was beneath me. Also, I found that it had little effect after the fourth grade anyway. Someone would always point it out in a few minutes and no one would actually abuse the individual. Mature fun suckers.
Also, I absolutely refused to violate the sanctity of the hug. They were one of the few things that helped me get through a bad day and I wasn't willing to lose them.
No, I had other plans to take advantage of his kindness. He was a complete sucker for helping someone in need. Especially women. I am almost certain he has to buy new jackets weekly with how often he gives them away to a chilled looking female. I myself have three of his sweaters. I plan on keeping them until the day I die. I don't know where he got them, but they are far more comfortable than any sweater I have ever bought for myself.
My revenge required some finesse and ingenuity. First, I had to make my prop look like it hadn't been tampered with. Then, I had to make sure the mechanism would deploy properly. I also needed to find someone to document. After all, what is the point of revenge if there is no evidence? The last part of my plan was by far the easiest. Simply take advantage of his kind, chivalrous ways.
I slipped my phone to my accomplice, reminding her to not be obviously filming. If he spotted me with my phone pointed at him, he would suspect something. If he spotted someone else with a phone pointed at him, he may be less suspicious, but it could still blow my cover.
He was talking to Amanda when I approached. It sounded like his usual friendly, flirty banter. She was eating it up. Now all I had to do was put my acting skills to the test.
"Hey, sorry for butting in." I said shyly. "I felt really bad about ruining your lunch with Seb the other day, and I wanted to apologize." I honestly did feel bad about ruining their lunch date. I knew he had a huge crush on her, but if they were going to become an item, I feel it was only fair that she also knew about his more mischievous side.
"It's ok. It was memorable at least." She laughed, resting a hand on his arm. That simple, seemingly innocent action made me very uncomfortable. It wasn't like I was pining for his affection, but he was one of my best friends and seeing someone openly flirt with him was odd. Like seeing a teacher outside of school, or a dog walking around with a leash and no human.
I distracted myself from the display by pretending to have trouble opening my drink. Sebastian, the kind fool didn't even ask before taking it from me to end my struggling.
"Since when do you drink Coke?" He chuckled, looking at the bottle he had taken from me.
"I usually don't. Just had a random craving for it." I shrugged. I waited until he turned his attention back to the bottle before I took a step away. He easily twisted the cap off, the hidden surprise beneath the cap falling in unnoticed.
Sebastian swore and held the bottle at arms length when the mentos reacted with the soda, a fountain of fizz spraying over both him and Amanda. I didn't bother containing my laughter. It went all over both of them. There was no hiding that it had been my doing.
"So amateur." Sebastian sighed, wiping the sticky soda from his face. "I expected more from you."
"Why do I keep getting involved with these?" Amanda asked grumpily.
"Because she doesn't care who gets caught in the crossfire." Sebastian explained, shooting me an irritated, yet amused glare.
"Aww, you love me." I joked around my insane giggling.
"Mmhmm, keep telling yourself that." Sebastian replied.
"Aww, I'll make it better." I assured him, wrapping my arms around his neck and dragging him down to my height before licking a stripe from his jaw to his hairline. "You might be pregnant now."
"Well then I hope you're going to do right by me and put a ring on it. I'm not raising this baby alone."
"You guys are weird." Amanda laughed, shaking her head as she walked away.
"You're going to ruin my chances with her if she keeps getting involved."
"You can always surrender." I suggested, raising a brow at him.
"Never going to happen." He snorted.
All at once I jumped up, wrapping my legs around his waist and resting my forehead against his. He caught my thighs and steadied himself, fighting a laugh as we locked gazes.
"Then you will both continue to suffer my wrath." I whispered, quickly licking up his nose.
"You're disgusting." He laughed, wiping at his face.
"And you taste terrible." I shrugged, squirming down and skipping back to my accomplice to retrieve my phone. An idea for my next prank was already forming.
