"Hey dad, it's me. Just wanted to say hi. No, that's a lie, actually. I called so that I could have some relieving cuss out moment, maybe add a fat 'screw you' at the end and hang up. So I'll do that. But I'll do it after I tell you why I really wanted to call. You're beloved daughter is a sociopath. A literal highly functioning sociopath. No one was going to tell you, so." I cough away the lump in my throat and throw darts at the board behind Bee's door.

"Oh. and she's been gone for three days. So, there's that. But that happens all the time, so... I think she gets it from you." another dart hits so close to the bullseye.

"Anyway, I swore to myself that I would never be like you with your prejudice but, I guess I was because I'm no longer friends with Jake. My own doing, I guess your proud of me. Well, not for long because... I like Jake. I really fucking like him. Yep. That's me. A pansy, you would say. I have a girlfriend. I don't like her. So, yeah. That's about it. Just a little fill in on the lives you love to think you ruin by leaving. But in all honesty, none of us like you here. You leaving is a victory. So, thanks. Don't come back and uh... oh yeah! Fuck you, you racist homophobe!" I end my little speech into my dads voicemail in a cheery tone so he knows there's no hard feelings. I hang up and bang the phone down on Bees desk - I've been pacing.

I don't want her to think that I care she's gone, but I do. Of course I do.

I looked up the symptoms for a high functioning sociopath and found things that make me tear up. But she's not here to talk to. So, I have one more teary phone call to give.

"Hey baby, what's up?" Charlie's beautiful voice sings through the receiver. Before I can even reply she excitedly talks again like a baby bird out of the nest for the first time.

"So my friend Izzy is having a party tonight. It's gonna be so fun and we are going. I was just about to send you pictures of the dress actually. Hold on, it's sending now." my phone dings and I see the picture of her in the mirror wearing a beautiful baby pink dress.

"It looks great." I say slowly and sadly.

"Awesome! You don't need to dress up though, it's just a thing. Wait... why did you sound sad?" she finally stops and her voice gets closer like she took me off speaker. I gulp. God, she was so excited. I hate this part.

"Char, I really enjoy spending time with you. But... I don't think that we're working right now." I say carefully and she rebuttals so quickly I'm almost cut off,

"What do you mean right now? What is it? Ah, it's someone else, isn't it?" her voice gets lower from her excited high. I'm a little scared.

"Well-" she cuts me off before I can explain.

"You man whore! We had sex yesterday!" she squeals before turning into her deep serious voice that sounds like an evil villain, "Who is she? Who the fuck is this skank?"

"It's not... its not like that."  I panic, my voice becoming higher than hers.

"It's not like that." she mocks me in a childish and girl voice before yelling, "You fucking pig."

"I'm gonna get you. I'm gonna fucking get you." she says and I shiver. She hangs up.

Great. Now everyone hates me. Why did I do that?
