"You guys kissed, didn't you?" Tyler says, clicking his fingers and looking as surprised as me.
And the words start to form. Finally.
"What? Ew, no. I'm not one of those." I say in disgust.
Retreat! Retreat! My mouth is saying things my brain didn't want! Fuck!
"One of those?" he repeats, shock and confusion playing around his face. And now I can't stop myself. I can't freeze my emotions from 6 years gushing out as homophobia instead of actual feelings.
"Yeah. If you think that I'm messed up like that, then you must really think low of me." I spit and he laughs in disbelief.
"Kings, you don't mean that. I'm sorry for bringing it up." he backs away. But I'm clearly not done yet:
"No! That wasn't me you must've seen, cause I'm no fag, never will be." I growl and the sound of the bathroom door makes me stiff. Until I see it's just Olly. But I freeze again when he's rushing to the taps with blood all over his hands.
"Macbeth got a little carried away." he explains to us when he sees our worried faces. Tyler quickly snaps his head back to me after, even with Olly washing his hands in the sink right in between us like some idiot.
"Never say that word." he demands and I chuff out a breath I didn't even realise I was holding.
"I'll say whatever I fucking want." I step towards him and Olly turns around quickly, spraying us with speckles of water that cling onto my face as he says a deep, "Woah."
"Fag, homo, batty boy, bum boy, bent, twink, poof, ponce." I list them on my fingers until Tyler shoves me to stop.
"Dude, nah, no." he says in all seriousness that's squashed as Olly repeats him, standing a couple feet behind the conversation like an echo.
The bathroom stool squeaks open and my head flicks to a figure standing in the hallway of cubicles. Jake.
He storms up to us and Tyler steps back swiftly, letting him get right in my face.
"Say that again." he says calmly with a grimace and I smirk like an evil villain.
"Well— " I start to say but am cut off as Jacob punches me right in the nose. It's like a fountain of pain, from the first sting to a whirlwind of aches and unbearable throbbing that corses through a matter of seconds. But what hurt most was that it was Jake's fist that hit my face. Cause boy, he wears rings.
Jake storms out and Olly and Tyler just watched him go like cats with a spotlight. Tyler looks back at me and gestures his hand to the door, signalling my leave. I huff and go, knowing to go the opposite direction of Jake and go straight to outside. As I leave, I hear Olly murmur in confusion,
"What the hell is a ponce?"
When I get outside, the cold air feels too good against my red face. I get out my phone and shakily dial. I can taste the warm blood dripping from my nose on my lips.
"Hey. Come get me." I demand.
"What are the magic words?" Bianca's annoyingly fake voice sing into my ears. I roll my eyes angrily and kick the ground.
"Get me." I almost shout, trying to not through my phone to the ground.
"Magic words." she replies more sternly as if she's a nursery teacher telling me off for trying to sniff a pritt stick.
"Ugh. Please?" I say, matching her fake tone and she laughs.
"Be at the gate in five." she warns and hangs up. When she does I'm cooling down. Till I remember what just happened and punch the door behind me twice, positively injuring my knuckle indefinitely.
When Bee gets here, I jump in the front seat and sigh. She looks at me in disbelief and chuckles.
"Lemme guess, I 'should see the other guy'?"
