JAKE'S P.O.V

I prefer house parties to those big ones with the lights. They're more cosy, y'know? Like this one I'm at, there's a few people scattered around the front garden but most of us are inside, in our groups. There are girls sitting on the kitchen island, guys being stupid and trying to do keg stands. I already beat their records with beer soaking my shirt and it's not even ten. I'm in the living area, leaning against the bookcase while hanging around a group of people I know to an extent. They're funny, so I stay with them. Until...

"Yo, dude, look at that." the guy to my left hits me in the arm and points to the coffee table behind that was behind a guy but he's moved. This is when my mouth gates open in a half laugh, but in a good way. Because the drunk girl that's stripping on the table isn't the regular sexy nerd girl who wants to show she's fun. I watch in awe as the blonde girl struggles to whip off her pink dress. She gets it eventually and everyone stares. People take out their phones to capture Charlotte moving randomly in her underwear.

Yeah, Charlotte. Kingsley's girlfriend - stripping in the middle of a party for everyone to see. And that guy is dead to me. But luckily I'm a good guy. I walk to her and wrap my arms around her waist, lifting her off the table and onto the safe ground. She squeals a bit but people stop staring. I turn her around, my arms still shielding her. She pouts and throws up in her mouth.

"What the hell are you doing?" I ask quickly, lifting my shirt off me and placing it on her - which she seems to be incapable of doing. She looks up at me and stares back.

"Should've dated you." she slurs and her head crashes into my chest. I grab her shoulders and steady her.

"What are you talking about?" I rush but she stomps on the ground and falls into a strop like a toddler. I realise a few guys are still looking and pull her away to the hallway by the staircase.

"Ugh, let go of me!" she squeals when she gets to the door way and shoves me with her two hands.

Should've dated you.

"What happened with Kings?" I ask, slightly afraid of the answer.

"Why is your shirt sticky?" she pinches the end of it with her two fingers and scrunches her face up. I roll my eyes and step towards her.

"What happened?" I ask again, maybe a little more impatiently.

"We broke up." she groans and shoves me again, this time her hands slightly wet from my shirt. I realise how cold I am at that moment, now that we're out of the crowd and I'm shirtless. Charlotte angrily groans again, shoving me again but with force.

"Why?" is all I can muster to answer, of course I care. He may be someone who I have lost all trust of, but I still care. I feel like Kings has been on some kind of dodgy medication with some bad side effects. Like he's gone off the rails all of a sudden. I don't know why though.

"There's someone else!" she strops. Oh, that's why. Just as I start to ask when another person who shocks me appears. Apparently everyone but Kings is at this party. Even his sister.

Bianca walks to Charlotte and puts her arm around her shoulders. She stares at me and smiles. I'm a little scared.

"Hey, Charlie. You okay?" she asks in a creepy voice which Charlotte shakes her head to like a child.

She turns her around and guides her back into the party, oh, but not before turning her head around and giving me a creepy smile. Classic Bianca. I don't even ask why the hell she's here, two years younger than everyone but still managing to be more involved than half the people here.

I don't go back to the party for a while, I sit on the stairs and stare at the front door.

I stare like I'm expecting someone to enter. Like I'm expecting Kings to enter. But I know he's not going to enter. And if he did enter I probably would just get up and push right past him. I would walk home at dark with no shirt and it would start raining.

At this thought I step back into the party to see Bianca and Charlie standing very close by the fireplace. Bianca wearing a red sparkly dress with a matching red cup in her hand and Charlie in my stained T-shirt. They're both smiling, Bianca lightly tilting into her.

They're so close they could... oh. Bee lowers her cup and kisses her brothers ex girlfriend. I gasp for breath. Especially when they turn a little so I can only see Charlie's back and Bee's open eyes. She looks at me and smiles against the other girls lips. She gives me a wink and I back out. And run home shirtless. It doesn't rain.
