Jason

Night From Hell

Here we are on the verge of pulling triggers and shooting men to the grounds. Today, Alien is going to watch me triumph over his heart and head. This is how I do things big and loud and tonight is going to be wild. My men are driving close behind and they are vigilante.

Faith is driving, her eyes on the road and her fingers are wrapped around the steering wheel as if she is holding for dear life. I keep my eyes on her and my gun on Alien's head. Her limps are trembling as silent tears are covering her cheeks.

When I drove my car beside her on the road and told her to stop on the side of the road with a gun pointed at her, she screamed a little. Alien was deep asleep beside her and she looked at him as if she is looking at God for help. I warned her to not make any stupid mistake, if she wants him alive. And, she did that! Fucking obeyed every word! She cared about him that much!

I look at the rear-view mirror to find Alien watching me. His eyes are burning holes into mine. We stare at each other for a while, neither of us averting his eyes.

"How was she? A good pussy?" I laugh it off as if I didn't care.

Alien looks at me calmly without saying anything. His face is as stoic as a stoned wall.

Suddenly a loud noise of car tires screeching, when we are just three miles away from State line. I jerk my head looking at the cars surrounding us as Faith stopped dead in the middle of the road. I look back at my men but they are trapped between two cars.

Fuck! These are Alien's men. When did he manage to call them? My eyes were on him the whole time! Fuck! Fuck!

Suddenly I feel a man's weight thrown on me. Alien is on me his hands around my neck. I try to hit him with gun's butt on his head but I missed.

"Faith take the gun!" Alien orders

My eyes are on the ceiling, my head pushed back with Alien's hands around me my neck. All his weight is on me! I feel cold hands around mine, Faith is trying to get the gun but she fails. My grip is hard on the steel. I feel her teeth  grazing my skin pushing into my flesh. Pain is palpable! I hear gun shots and screaming; people are fighting outside the car.

I think I am losing control over reality and things are getting to an ugly end.

I no longer have the gun and Alien's hands are no longer around my neck. Air is harsh on my struggling lungs. They are out of the car and I can hear my men calling my name.

I push on my hands and I struggle to get out of the car. My head is spinning and my fingers are weak around the handle. I welcome the fresh air as I walk into the scenery before me.

Three of my men are on the ground and four of them are cornered. Alien is heading his pride with his hand holding Faith's. I slowly walk to my men.

Our eyes meet and we are looking at each other. She never connected with me but, I know that I have seen pain and fear in her eyes when Alien brought to my mansion for the first time. I have seen misery and heartache. I have thought that she is just like me but, I think that I was wrong.

I don't remember that I have felt so much pain like now. I thought that I have seen and felt the worst already. But, I guess that I was wrong... once again.

Without hesitation she walks towards me. Alien's men are pointing their guns at us. My men leap to my side but I tell them off. She stands before me. Her eyes are on mine. I can smell her scent but it's not like that anymore. No more fears and no more sadness on them. I sense pity and a faint guilt.

"You need to leave with your men Jason." she breathes out.

I look at her; as if I see her for the first time. She was never weak but only helpless. She was never the silent lamb but the killer with a sharpened knife; a Lecter to my wounds.

"I never promised you with anything! I never told you that I have feelings for you; it was all in your head." She tells me calmly. Here eyes are looking allover my face. Indeed! she never told me anything. She never said a word to me. I was the only one talking, I was the only one producing words when she only served silence.

I hold her hands and I look into her eyes as she tries to push my hands away from her arms. I hold into her harder not wanting to let go. I lift my head up looking at the gunned man standing at the other side ; watching us with a gun pointed at our heads.

"Let me go Jason" she says her voice shaky.

I grab her arms harder as she tries to me push me again.

"I can't let you go Faith!" I plead "I promised myself to save you."

She shakes her head violently as she puts her hands on my chest pushing me away from her.

"I don't want to be saved Jason! Because I am already saved." She tells me.

I look at her dumbfounded not knowing what to say, even though deep in my heart I knew the truth. But, here again I look into her eyes searching for some sign, for anything to tell me that she is not saying the truth.

Her warm brown eyes are now cold and vacant. She pushes me again trying to free herself and this time I let go. She stumbles but she quickly steadies herself. She looks at me one last time and, then she turns on her heels and walks away from me.

Alien is now looking at me; no remorse in his eyes. Then, he looks at her with a hint of smile on his face. I glare at him wanting to reap his head off. My mind is buzzing and my heart is beating fast. I watch Faith stands next to Alien, as he wraps his arm around her slender shoulders.

I feel like dying!

"Only one of us is leaving this place alive." Alien says matter of fact.

"I know." is all I say.

My men are right beside me. Alien turns to Faith and kisses her with his hands around her body and she hugs him back, her lips are crushing his. I have to turn my head but my stubborn eyes are glued on them. He hugs her one last time and whispers something in her ears. Then, ushers his men to lead her to one of their cars.

She turns to look at Alien one last time mouthing "I love you" to him. But, she never looks at me. I feel my hands shaking and, I think that if I die now I will feel better. Maybe that's the only truth.

One of my men hands me a gun nodding at me. I don't tell them anything. This fight is ending tonight and one of us is going to be dead and the other is free. But, isn't it the same? Death and freedom!

We face off, my men on one side and Alien's on the other side. We look at each other one last time, then gunfire is filling the silent night.

Who died and who survived is relative, because either way by the end of this night I am a fallen man.
