Valentine's Day was coming up and it was one of your favorite holidays. It wasn't for all the hoopla like chocolates, flowers, diamonds, that filled the stories and adverts on TV, but just having a day where you can dedicate to showing your loved one how much you love them. Of course, that was something you should every day, but it was nice to do something a little more on a day that wasn't an anniversary or birthday.
You've enjoyed your past Valentine's Days with your exes. They were your typical dinner and some flowers type dates. It's not that you didn't like them, but you never felt like thy had put in any effort to make the day special. Which meant that with Valentine's Day, you really didn't have any high expectations, even though you were in a new relationship.
You had met Harry backstage at the Jingle Bell Ball in December. You two managed to hang out and go on a few dates over the last couple of months and it just recently became exclusive between the two of you. Neither of you had brought up the topic of Valentine's Day in conversations, mostly because you weren't sure if the two of you would even be in the same city, but with the Brit Awards coming up just after the weekend, you would both be in London.
So, now you two had talked back and forth about what to do. Again, you weren't setting very high expectations since you've never had any luck in the past and plus the relationship was still very new and you didn't want to make a huge deal of it. However, Harry had set quite the exceptions and put them on himself.
Call himself a helpless romantic, but he wanted your first Valentine's Day together to be special. Especially since it would be the first official date since the two of you became official. It was weird, the feeling that changed when you went from causally dating someone to being in a relationship with them.
When it happened, he hadn't exactly planned on it in that moment. You two were on the phone and he kinda just blurted it out calling you his girlfriend. He quickly caught himself and asked if it was okay with you and if not, he understood. You just laughed at him and told him it was perfectly okay for you.
Which brings you two now, Valentine's Day. Harry had some radio promo to do early in the morning, but after that he was meeting you for a nice brunch and then the two of you would be spending the rest of the together. He made sure to mix in some special, maybe a little extravagant things in with some simple activities. He didn't it to be too big, but nothing too simple either.
You had arrived at the small cafe you were meeting Harry at, you weren't sure if you should give him his gift at brunch or wait until later, so you decided to get something small to give to him there. He was finishing up his radio bit just as you parked your car, so you knew it would be a little bit before his arrival.
During your wait, you scanned the menu, seeing all the Valentine themed items available. Waffles, Pancakes, and a multiple of other pastries were offered in heart shapes, along with powdered sugar and red berries added for the color scheme. By the time Harry arrived, you had decided on a veggie omelet with roasted potatoes and a fruit plate.
"Sorry, I'm late," he said sitting down across from you. "There were fans waiting outside."
"Oh, no problem," you smiled. "I've only ordered a drink so far."
He nodded looking over the menu. The two of you soon ordered and then he looked over at you.
"Happy Valentine's Day, my dear," he smiled. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you," you smiled. "And Happy Valentine's Day to you. Oh! I wasn't sure if we'd be exchanging gifts just yet, but I went head and brought a little something."
"Y/N, you didn't have to do that," he said.
"Well, I did, now open it," you smirked handing him a little bag.
