"Whenever you finally figure out what the fuck you want, just let me know," he said before grabbing his stuff and walking out the door, letting it shut forcefully behind him.

You sighed taking a sip of your drink as you sat in the studio later that night. You had plenty on your mind and you just needed to get it out on paper. Except, you were currently staring at a blank page for the last twenty minutes. All you could think about was your fight with your boyfriend... friend who you were seeing... honestly you didn't know.

You were together... sort of and that was exactly what caused the argument. The two of you have been friends for a few years, then slipped into a bit of a friends with benefits for a bit, before moving into actual dating territory. Which had lasted for a good while, but now Harry was pressing for more of a commitment.

He wanted to make sure the two of you were on the same page, which was understandable, but it wasn't like you were saying you didn't want to be with him or wanted to see other people, so why did it matter if you two put a label on it.

And when you said those exact words, you might as well had told him you didn't want to be with him. It wasn't that you were anti-label or commitment, but you hadn't had the best experiences in past relationships whenever it came time to become "official."

You knew you shouldn't compared your past or exes with Harry, but it was hard not to. You knew that once there was more of a commitment or a label put on the relationship, there was also added pressure and things that were expected compared to before. You were happy with Harry and you liked how you two were, so why couldn't that be enough.

"What the fuck you want," those words played over and over in your mind as you stared at the blank page of your notebook.

What do I want. You scribbled onto the top of page. You sat there for a minute thinking of every single thing you wanted. You bit the top of you pen as you contemplated what you wanted before taking the pen to the paper and jotting down everything.

About an hour and a half later passed by and you had not only a list of everything you wanted, but the starting of a new song. You spent the next hour finishing the song and getting it fully written with your friend and co writer that you called once you got the idea for the song. The rest of the night you were in the studio finishing up the song.

By the time you had it written it all out and recorded a few little tidbits, the sun was starting to come up.

"So, you haven't talked to him since he left?" She asked as the two of you sat in a nearby cafe eating some breakfast.

"No." you sighed. "As soon as he left, I checked to see if the studio was free and then came straight there."

"Damn girl, you could have at least texted him something," she said taking a bite of food.

"I know, I know," you sighed. "But you know me... I have a hard time expressing myself and how I feel... I knew I needed to get my thoughts out first."

"Well, then you should play him the song," she said. "I mean it literally tells how you feel about him."

"Yeah, I know," you nodded. "But it's still not giving him what he wants."

"Hey, from the way you've explained it, he just wants to know that you have feelings for him like he has feelings for you. You're saying that you only want him and that's all that should matter. If he wants more or wants something you can't give him, then he needs to find someone who can," she said.

"But I don't want him to," you whispered. "I've never felt like I do whenever I'm with him before. I don't want to lose that."

"So, tell him that," she said. "That's exactly what he wants to hear. The two of you have been friends for fucking ever it seems like, so why can't you just share how you feel about him. Especially when that's what he's asking you for."
