Chapter 1

           It was just a normal day for me when i found out something i never knew. i woke up about 5:30 am to get ready for school. i took a shower and got dressed, soon I went down to get some breakfast. Mom must have already left for her shift at the hospital. I grabbed some ceral and a bowl. Before i did anything else i went to pound on my older brother Jakes door. well he was my half brother actually but it was still just mom, Jake and me.  

"What Cyrus" Jake was half asleep

"Get your ass up we need to get to school in and hour"

"what time is it"  Jake opened the door his dirty blond hair a mess. me and Jake may look the same but we are deffently diffrent, but we get along just fine 

"6:10 now get ready"

"okay mother" Jake cursed me out under his breath thinking i couldnt hear him

     i went back to my breakfast as i ate i flipped the tv on. the news was on they were talking about the earthquake that happened in the next town over. it wasnt surpiseing after all we do live in california. soon Jake walked out in black ripped skinny jeans and a tshirt.

"lets go shortie"  he grabbed his keys off the counter

"k"

"how many days till your 16 again?" 

"Like 6 or so why"

"just curious thats all got everything" 

"yeah"

    Me and jake got into his pick up, it use to be his dads but Jakes dad past away a few years ago.  soon we reached the school i jumped out of the pickup and saw my best friend Charles. i walked over to him. Charles had been my best friend since we moved to california we were origanlly from north dakota. he had green eyes black hair and was in a wheel chair due to a car accedent 

"Charles" i called out he was talking to a girl i never saw her before she looked to be about my age. 

"Hey Cyrus this is Izzy she is new here" 

"Hey" i waved 

"Yo Cy have a good day k if you need me remeber text me" Jake came up behind me "hey Charles"

"Hey jake, oh Izzy this is Cyrus' older bro Jake"

"nice to meet you" Jake said "anyway gotta run see you Cy."

"see ya"
 

Soon the bell for first period rang i helped charles get up the ramp and we helped izzy to her first class. Charles and i got to our first class just before we were late, Mrs. Kane shot us a dirty look it was obvious we were not her favorite people which we didn't care about.
