AU: During October and November of 1979, Lily Evans had a lover she had met in late September, she had been broken up with James at the time and had wanted something different after dealing with his arrogance. Her lover, she had discovered in late November, was the Dark Lord in disguise trying to seduce her into giving away secrets of the Order.
She immediately cut off all ties with him and soon discovered she was pregnant with his child. In her worry, she had a one night stand with her ex-boyfriend and told him that he was the father of her baby, resulting in a shotgun wedding.
Having discovered of Lily's pregnancy, the Dark Lord confirmed that he was the father of her child and went to go take back his son.

It had taken a whole year to find them, and it hadn't helped that they had discovered that he was hunting them and had gone under Fidelius Charm to prevent him from finding them.
It had taken months of manipulation to get Peter Pettigrew to join him and reveal the location to him, but at last he had discovered it.
Just a year and a half ago he had heard about a shotgun wedding between the Lord Potter and a muggleborn girl due to pregnancy and his suspicions had been correct: it was Lily.
All it had taken was a trip to Gringotts to confirm that her child was his, the blood test said clear as day that the so called 'Harry Potter' was his son.
