Scene 2a-Aiden's Bedroom (closed closet)-Evening-Coming Out/I'm Not Gonna Hide
AIDEN: (turns on computer and starts typing) Twitter. Log in. (Light blue Lights turn on but AIDEN is still seen) ATTENTION EVERYONE AT MY SCHOOL AND EVERYONE FOLLOWING ME: I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. (Starts talking nervously) I have been hiding this for a while, and I feel like I am ready to tell you all this. I like guys. I am gay. If that is a problem, then you can leave me alone, but I love who I want and I love myself and I am truly fine with whatever street credit this gives me. (Lights turn normal) and post. Mom! Dad!
(AIDENS PARENTS enter)
AIDEN'S MOM: Yes?
AIDEN: Can we talk?
AIDEN'S MOM: sure
AIDEN: okay. I don't know what your reaction to this will be but, I... (starts speaking nervously and in a scared way) I am gay.
AIDEN'S MOM:Why didn't you tell us? (AIDEN shrugs, showing in a way that he doesn't know) No matter what, we will always love you.
AIDEN'S DAD: Son. (AIDEN looks at him, looking scared) It's okay. I still love you. I have to say, I support you because, I am bisexual.
AIDEN'S MOM: I support you too. (Says next line Jokingly) Even the Torah has irony in it.
AIDEN: really? Never thought I would hear those words from you.
(They all laugh)
AIDEN'S DAD: Aiden, be careful. When I came out as bi it went horribly wrong for me. I was hated. And at the time I was dating a guy.
AIDEN: Dad. Things have changed, but I won't let anyone bully me.
AIDEN'S MOM: That's great. Just be careful.
AIDEN: I will. Well, goodnight.
AIDEN'S PARENTS: Night. (They exit)
AIDEN: (says confidently) Yes! (Opens closet door) I'M NOT GONNA HIDE!!!
Scene 2b-Ethan's Room-Evening-Coming Out/I'm Not Gonna Hide
ETHAN: You can do this Ethan. You can do this.(ETHAN takes out a camera and calls in his parents)
Mom! Dad! Can you help me record a video?
ETHAN'S MOM: (walks in with ETHAN'S DAD) Sure. (Takes camera and starts filming)
ETHAN: Hey everyone. I need to talk to you. (Addresses the camera and his parents nervously and he starts talking nervously)
So, this is difficult for me to say but, well, actually. I got an idea. (Pulls out iPad and plays instrumental to a song he was writing and sings)
