Scene 8-The Hallway-Morning-Ethan's Talk
(ETHAN walks in with a visible body of bruises and cuts on his arm)
AIDEN: Ethan. I've been noticing your bruises for weeks, and now cuts. Please tell me what is going on.
ETHAN: No.
AIDEN: Can I take a guess. You tell me if I'm right? (ETHAN nods) Um, okay, what is it? Your parents (ETHAN nods) Why didn't I ask sooner?
ETHAN: My Mom beats me. And I am getting depressed, which is why I have stopped talking to you. I-I started cutting. And I am getting to a suicidal point. My Dad left the family. He said he would come get me when he has enough money. He supports us. Mom forces his beliefs on him. I told him, if I need too, I will move in with you.
(AIDEN and WILLIAM are surprised, FUEGO isn't in the room. AIDEN then goes to hug ETHAN)
AIDEN: You should have told us.
ETHAN: Can I stay with you guys?
WILLIAM: Why did you not ask sooner? Let's ask my mom.
(Lights turn blue as WILLIAM seems to use his phone and EMMA/AIDEN'S MOM enters)
EMMA: Hey Honey. What is wrong?
AIDEN: Ethan is having a hard time with his family. His mom doesn't accept him and he is abused. His Dad left the family to get away from Ethan's mom. His dad will come get him when he has enough money. Can we take him in?
EMMA: Of course. Should I call the cops on his mom?
ETHAN: (thinks) Maybe. Tell my Dad I am moving in with you. And I already got clothes in my gym bad so don't worry about clothes.
EMMA: Okay. I will see you three after school.
WILLIAM: Bye Mom.
ETHAN and WILLIAM: Bye.
EMMA: Bye.
(ETHAN pulls AIDEN into a tight embrace)
ETHAN: Thank you. Even landing on the moon can't make me happier than I am talking to you.
AIDEN: Getting back to your normal self. (Chuckles) Your Mom will regret having beaten you.
ETHAN: Yeah. Shoot! I still have a knife.
AIDEN: Ethan. Give it to my Mom after school.
ETHAN: I love you.
AIDEN: I love you too. (They hug tightly) Curse you for having your own clothes. I wanted to see you wearing one of my shirts.
ETHAN: Maybe when we get to your house we can have me try on some of your clothes, even though they won't fit?
AIDEN: Sure. And i want to see you in my clothes because they are definitely too big.
