Scene 7-School Hallway-Morning-Will and Ember
(WILLIAM seems to be staring at a girl at her locker, and the girl turns around revealing the face of EMBER)
ETHAN: Hey Will, what are you looking at?
WILLIAM: Um... nothing!
ETHAN: Nervousness. And your eyes are dilated. You seem to have been staring at a girl whom you find attractive and have taken a liking to.
AIDEN: I missed everything you said.
ETHAN: I didn't say a lot. I just used science to figure out that William seems to like someone.
WILLIAM: W-What?! N-no I don't! You can't prove anything!
ETHAN: Denial. Another sign. You were obviously watching Ember. And when she looks back you look away. It seems you like her. Even though Fuego likes her.
WILLIAM: W-What? No!
AIDEN: I'm afraid he is right. I acted just like you before Ethan and I got together. And now look. Ethan and I are dating. (Looks at ETHAN with a smile) He has got to be right, like always.
WILLIAM: Fine. I can't deny it. I um. I like Ember.
ETHAN: Well you are in luck.
ETHAN: William. I think you have a chance. I try not to look at anyone, but I was noticing that Ember has been looking at you from her desk. Luckily, sitting with her makes it easy to tell. She also points her upper leg toward you when sitting cross legged. You have a chance.
WILLIAM: Really?
AIDEN: This is coming from a gay kid so don't take my word for it, but I say you should get to know her, and maybe ask her out when ready.
ETHAN: Aiden is right. You should.
WILLIAM: Well, Okay. (Claps and time stops) I am nervous but I will try it out. (Claps and time continues) What do I do?
(FUEGO enters)
ETHAN: just talk to her. Ask how her day was.
FUEGO: Hey guys. We ready for the plan?
ETHAN: Sadly, Yes. Aiden and I have prepared. We will pretend to argue then break up on the spot.
FUEGO: Alright. At lunch?
AIDEN: Sure.
(WILLIAM starts walking to EMBER and ETHAN watches)
ETHAN: He is doing it.
AIDEN: Okay. Let's watch.
(Focus is on WILLIAM and EMBER)
WILLIAM: H-hey Ember.
EMBER: Oh, hey.
WILLIAM: You look nice.
EMBER: Thanks. You do too. How are you?
WILLIAM: Good. Um, this may seem forward seeing as we don't talk a lot, but we are still friends. I was wondering, would you maybe want to go to the dance with me?
EMBER: Sure.
WILLIAM: Alright, cool. See you then. (Starts walking away but turns back) Oh, by the way, can I have you number?
EMBER: Of course.
(Scene closes with WILLIAM and EMBER exchanging numbers)
