"Back home so early?" I hear as I walk into the house. I nearly have a heart attack.

"Miles are you crazy? What are you doing here?"

"I was waiting up for you. How did the date go?" Miles notices my eyes are bloodshot from crying.

"Hey what happened?" Miles stands up and quickly and comes to confront me.

"Declan is a jerk that is what happened. God I am such an idiot for having a crush on him. The nerve of the guy to think we are friends with benefits."

"Well we could be."  Miles smirks

Out of habit I punch Miles right in the chest

"I am just kidding. So what is in the to go box?"

I toss him the box "Your favorite lasagna." I roll my eyes.

"Awesome! Why did you order this?"

"Actually I ordered a salad and Declan ordered the  lasagna but I left before the food came out and I figured you would enjoy the lasagna more than Declan."

Miles raises his eyebrows "For a girl looking like an angel you sure can be evil."

"Let's not talk about our costumes right now." Annoyed as I replay Declan's comment from earlier.

"Okay. How does popcorn and a movie sound?"

I nod as I sit on the couch. I made it about  halfway through the hangover movie before falling asleep.

I wake up to my alarm going off. I thought I turned it off yesterday because let's be real, no one wants to wake up at 6 o'clock in the morning on a Saturday. I look over and see that I am laying on Miles and he is still asleep. I can't help but take in the moment. Miles is so peaceful when he  sleeps. I can't get over the fact how he makes me so happy and feel safe at the time. Declan's comments about my relationship with Miles come to mind and flood my heart with emotions that I can't even come to terms with. Could my relationship with Miles ever be more than just friends?

"Melanie honey are you awake?" I hear my mom say as she is coming through the front door.

I nudge Miles. "Hey time to wake up my mom is here."

"Mel what are you doing in my room?"  Miles asks as he rubs his eyes.

"Come on Miles you're in my living room we fell asleep."

My mom approaches the couch with a mischievous grin. "Miles, Melanie am I interrupting?

"Oh god, no mom we just fell asleep watching a movie."

"Mel I have to go. I have this thing planned this afternoon."

"A thing?" I ask confused

"With a girl." Miles avoids eye contact

"Oh."  I say under my breath.

"I'll see you ladies later." Miles waves as he walks out the door.

I couldn't help but be sad that Miles left. Of course he would have a date. I'm so stupid to even let Declan's thoughts mess with my head
