Chapter 5

Friends Do Have Name

Mirca could close her eyes

But she couldn't shut down her memories

Mirca's days are filled with happy sad memories of Cole that sometimes bring smiles to her face as she remembers happy times spent with him and sometimes tears fill her eyes as realization dawns on her that she can never have those days and Cole back which is soon converted into heavy sobs and crying.

She is trying hard to get over the grief.

Isn't she taught that Life needs to move on!!!

In fact her parents are preaching the same thing to her day in and day out. Darwin understands though and doesn't speak too much. He too is left lonely after his best friend deserted him succumbing to the death.

"Send them up... No wait I'll come down," says Mirca when she is informed of the arrival of Mr. And Mrs. Jefferson; Cole's parents had come to meet her.

She does not want to meet them initially wondering the pain this meet is affiliated to reminding her of times when Cole first took her to his house introducing 10 year old Mirca "meet Miss Fat potato" he introduced her as her friend's li'l sis teasing her in front of her parents as she was a bit plump

"Aww she is so cute. Behave like a gentle man boy" Mrs. Jefferson pinched Mirca's plump cheeks softly and scolded Cole asking him to behave as that was not the right code of conduct with the girls. She found her rather cute

Later when he introduced her to both her parents as her girlfriend two years back they said they were very proud of him to choose girl as pretty as Mirca as his girl.

Last month...

"Dad... Mom" Cole blushed "This is Mirca and I am marrying her..." he was so nervous he started blabbering "I.. I mean she is my fiancée.

"Oh my God!" Mrs. Jefferson ran to hug Mirca with tears in her eyes.

"You make me proud." Jefferson patted on his shoulders "she is the right girl for you."

"What did you see in this idiot?" his father asked as he hugged her "Only the good looks that he's got from me, you are no match to him." He winked at Mirca.

"I don't know but I love him." She admitted honestly.

Cole instantaneously rushed to kiss her without a second thought that his parents were around.

Instead they respected their privacy and left them alone.

Both the Jefforson couple loved and adored Mirca as their own daughter being deprived of one, Cole being their only child.

But however she felt guilty for not meeting them especially when she could not erase the events of the day those doctors are terming as her imaginations of parking the car to the right.

She blamed herself for being fake angry at him. Hadn't she played that silly tantrum of hers that silly animal won't have been able to enter the speeding vehicle of Cole and he'd been alive with his family today?

At least she owed something to them.

She does not care looking into the mirror before stepping down the stairs to meet her in-laws.

Can she still term them as that?

They hug her as soon as they see her, tears flowing endlessly from Mrs. Jefferson's eyes "I am so very sorry for you." She mumbled in her ears.

After staying together for god knows how long sharing the irreparable loss that Cole's death had caused to two most important girls of his life.

"Sandra I think its time now" the authoritative stern tone in Mr. Jefferson's voice made Mirca's heart beat faster.
