Chapter 14
Choices We Make
We have in our selves’ two minds positive and negative. It is about our conscience to whom we listen to.
The dark feminine image emerged from behind the glass again and this time the hands were waving frantically in the air. Mirca was assured that this wasn't any trick that her mind was playing but there was indeed someone behind the glass doors but how did she get in here. Wasn't it a private room?
Her sudden lack of interest picked Joan’s attention as he asked “you alright?”
“Nay” she closed her eyes trying to think rationally “can I go out and take some fresh air, I mean before I finally” she fluttered her eyelashes a little seductively and more shyly as she bit her lower lip “I give away my umm... “Virginity”
Joan complied with her desire more understandingly with a hint of pride as he let her go.
Mirca pulled her bustier to hide her exposed breast that Joan had been nibbling seconds ago giving her pleasures that she’d been craving for.
“Just get over with it” she muttered to herself as she pushed the glass sliding to see worried Gia in front of her. The dark night was glowing with lights from the skyscrapers and Gina’s milky white face shone in the darkness, the glint that added to her beauty yet the dark circles under her eyes clearly stated her sorrow
The narrow railing on which Gia was balanced hardly kept any room for person to stand; she wondered how Gia managed to stay here for long.
Mirca raised her eyebrows at Gina questioningly.
“Mirca ... I know you are mad at Eden.” She said quickly.
“Really you are here disturbing whatever I am doing to discuss Eden?” Mirca asked exasperatedly.
Her face towards the vast dark sky gave no clues to Joan who was preparing another shot of wine for Mirca. ’First timers feel easy after that ’ he thought.
“No this is about your virginity. It is important for us, our community.” Gia almost begged.
Mirca laughed humorlessly “Is this a joke? For heavens sake!” she sounded more irritated than she’d ever been “Are you trying to make fun out of my virginity.”
“Mirca, a glass of wine for you” Joan shouted from across the room “you’ll feel better after this” he called as he toasted himself the other glass that he’d poured for himself.
“Coming darling” Mirca shouted finding the half naked man more important than the stupid Virgin talks Gia was having with her “now if you excuse me” she addressed Gia “I have a night to savor.”
“Don’t be selfish Mirca” Gia begged “Eden didn't do this to you and you are ruining it for yourself. Remember he never forced himself on you”
“Mirca” another call from Joan made Gia rush with her words “please Mirca your virginity needs to be protected for your safety, for others. Think about it” and Gia jumps from the fifteen storey building of the hotel one step two step and few more and a tiny figure disappeared into the dark but she was alive and not dead because the night was as calm as it should be on a cold winter evening.
Had she been hurt there would have been shrieks and chaos on the grounds but the life continued as it should have under normal circumstances but Mirca’s brain was gushing with too many things, Gia’s words of think…, virginity important, protect were echoing in her small head.
Mirca took a deep breath as she entered the room, picked her leather jacket and rushed out of the room, Joan followed her and after understanding her despair of losing her virginity to a complete stranger as he assumed; like a thorough gentleman escorted her to the cab in which she drove back home to her empty room.
