Friends- They Understand

The person with whom you can pour yourself out and ne yourself is the one who has the privilege of being your friend and you are blessed if you have one.

“Sophie” Mirca shrieked as she stretched both her arms for the blonde girl who stood at her door way.

The little thread of her control now losing as she hugged her tight crying bitterly.

“I am sorry Mirca. I am sorry” Sophie her best friend mumbled again and again.

“I understand” Mirca finally said after crying for long enough in the comfort zone of her friend.

“How are you? Here?” Mirca asked after she’d exhausted her quota of tears.

“Some jerk had been smart enough to call me.” Sophie said looking at Darwin who stood smirking at the two girls he loved dearly

Darwin gave a small wave of salute and left two girls to themselves.

Mirca nods proud of her sibling who knew that she was far too broken needing a friend who had deserted her at the time of her wedding because he was stupid enough to break up with her a day before the wedding.

Though Darwin had always been a player but Sophie had been really serious about the relationship. Not that Mirca hadn't warned but Sophie was in deep shit with the killer feeling called love and ended heartbroken just a day before her best friend’s wedding.

It was so abrupt that Mirca couldn't deny or force Sophie to stay for her wedding and she knew it would have been difficult for her to stay. So she let her go without any argument.

They cried at the airport where Mirca had gone to see her off as she flew to her granny.

There Sophie cut off herself from outside world and stayed peacefully till Darwin sent her a mail describing exactly what Mirca was going through.

Where Sophie was expecting her best friend having the time of her life at her honeymoon, she was shocked to learn that she was a widow right on the day of her wedding.

She couldn't help but take the next flight home. She did not even visit her dad before coming to Mirca.

Darwin would have avoided calling Sophie. It hurt him to see her broken and he was waiting till time would mend things but since last few days Mirca had been miserable.

All his efforts to communicate with her were in vain as she had muted herself lost in her own world.

“Why do I feel there is lot more than what happened to Cole and his parent’s accusations?” Sophie asked eying her best friend curiously.

Joined from the hips these best friends were inseparable till her jerk of a brother messed up everything but now the two though were linked soul mates but Mirca couldn't gather courage to admit to her bestie that she almost had sex with a stranger while she was dreaming/ sleeping.

Gosh!!!! This was just too confusing for Mirca too.

“You alright?” Mirca asked suddenly and deliberately changing the topic. “ I mean Darwin sending a mail.”

“I am coping” Sophie sighed wiping another tear that kissed her face, not that her cheeks were dry. She’d shed enough sharing the hurt and pain of her best friend but the heartbreak was still fresh “but it still hurts”
