Title: The sun is also a star

Author: Nicole Yoon

Genre: Romance

Main plot: Natasha is an undocumented immigrant living in the United states since 10 years. But a stupid mistake leads to the police finding out about them and now they are are being deported back to Jamaica. With what could be possibly her last day in the country which became her home, she is trying desperately to find a way to continue her stay. Looks like fate has something else in store for her, as she meets Daniel, a charming Korean boy who challenges that he will make her fall in love with him in a day. Daniel is the dreamer, the poet the one who believes in destiny and meant to be. Together they discover what falling in love feels like. When Daniel learns that its natasha's last day in this country, to say he is devastated is an understatement. And now natasha has found another reason to stay, apart from so many others that include her best friend, her senior year graduation, prom and everything that memories are made of. Surely destiny didn't bring them together only to rip them apart. Or can fate be cruel too?

Personal feedback: Beautiful and enchanting, this is one of those books which you can't put down no matter what. I could relate to the book on a personal level too. The manner in which the change of POV's, the characters and side characters histories, and also their future holds for them were written made the book much better as its quite different from the norm. The subtle references to cultural differences and clashes, the drawbacks of living far away from your home country, just in search of greener pastures, with a fear of having to go back any moment, add depth to the storyline. I can't wait to read the author's other book already
