Author's Note, February 13, 2020:
I am writing the story that I wanted to read about the real-life relationship between Dylan/Didi/Wang Hedi/Xiao Wang andShen Yue/Yueyue/Xiao Shen. Although I am a DiYue/DyShen shipper and hope that they are together in real life, this is a fictional story. While based on real-life events, the thoughts and actions of the characters, including Unnamed Diyue Shipper 1 and Unnamed Diyue Shipper 2 , are imagined. This story is not told chronologically, similar to Greta Gerwig's movie adaptation of Little Women. The story is meant to be read in part order (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc.). Thank you for giving this fan fiction story a chance. I began writing this story in January 2020. As of February 10, 2020, I will not respond to any comments, but please know that I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy reading.
My target audience is those who also ship Didi and Yueyue, so if you are not a Diyue shipper and it pains you to read about them being together, please do not read any further.
If you are a Diyue Shipper, this is also meant to be a love story to the fandom. 💜💛 Taken any other way would be to take this work out of context.

Dylan, Connor, Caesar, Darren, and Shen Yue were all exhausted from their Phanta City rehearsal. However, they had one more job to do, which was an interview for Tencent about the work they just did for Phanta City.
They were to play dolls in a toy store: Dylan was a knight, Connor was a maharajah, Darren was a doctor, Caesar was the Phantom of the Opera, and Shen Yue was a dancer. The premise of the skit was that there was a little girl who went into a toy shop to purchase a doll, but because it was so near to closing time, the mother told the little girl that they would be back the next day.
After the store was locked up, the dolls came to life. Dylan rapped and they all sang and danced, including a Bollywood number.
Having changed out of their costumes and back into street clothes, they were asked a variety of questions.
They were told to rate each other's singing abilities, and were asked to point to the worst singer amongst them. While they all rather reluctantly recognized that Didi was the worst singer, Didi even pointing to himself, Xi Ze refused to point to anyone, and YueYue loyally said that Didi was good at rapping.
When asked for first impressions, Didi said of Shen Yue: "Wah! What a cute girl!"
Yueyue could not hide her "What are you talking about?" expression. The others also looked a little taken aback, but Didi was proud of his answer. Ok, maybe at the beginning, it was not quite like that, but it is now!
Also apparent from the interview was Didi's close relationship to Xi Ze. Didi said he thought Xi Ze was super handsome, as only a close bro would do. Darren's impression of Xi Ze was that he was someone who acted handsome, and Didi blurted out: "It's not acting handsome. It's really handsome!" Everyone laughed together in camaraderie.
After the interview was over, they all gathered to get in the car to return to the hotel to rest before the next day's rehearsal.
Unlike earlier that day, when they were recorded arriving to the studio, excited to begin rehearsing, now they were more subdued, but still happy to be together again since it was the first time they worked together since Meteor Garden.
They got in the car in the same order as their arrival: Xi Ze and Kangkang in the back, Didi, Yueyue, and Guan Hong in the front.
After they were all situated, Dylan tried to stifle a loud yawn, but was unsuccessful. The others looked at him sympathetically.
