You and Rouge finally reached the town after a few hours of walking. The sun had gone down by now, so there wasn't anyone left walking around.

"There's no one here..." You observed.

"Well, what did you expect dearie? It's pretty late."

You sighed. "What are we going to do? We can't talk to people if there's nobody around."

Rouge pointed to a hotel. "We could stay there for the night and find some information in the morning."

"Oh, really?" You looked at Rouge. "And who is going to pay for our room? Because I certainly don't have the money."

Rouge sighed. "Fine, this one is on me. But you better not forget this."

You laughed as you walked into the hotel. "Wouldn't dream of it."

While Rouge got you both registered, you wandered around the hotel trying to find someone to talk to. You were desperate to find out about Jack. But no matter where you went, you couldn't find anyone. Eventually you meet up with Rouge again and the two of you went up to your room.
The room was pretty small, but it was enough space for the night. You went over and collapsed on the bed. After the long walk, you were extremely exhausted. You quickly fell asleep, leaving Rouge by herself.

You woke up early in the morning. When you looked over at Rouge, you saw she was still sleeping. You took this opportunity to shower and clean up a little, getting ready for the day ahead of you. When Rouge finally woke up, you started talking to her about where to go to try and figure out how you got here, or where Jack might be.

"There's some people that live a couple blocks away from here that might be able to help you." Rouge said.

"Really!?' You asked excitedly. "Where?"

"Here, I'll write down the address for you. It shouldn't take too long for you to walk there." Rouge said, as she looked for a piece of paper and a pen.

"Wait. You're not coming with me?"

"Well, you see hon, me and these people aren't exactly what you would call 'friends.' I think it might be best for me to just sit this one out."

"Oh... okay." You started think about who these people might be, and why they wouldn't like Rouge.

"Don't worry dearie. We'll meet again." Rouge said, looking at you. "I'm sure of it."

After you got the address, you said your goodbyes to Rouge and headed towards the house. It was still early in the morning, so there weren't many people walking around. But the people that were walking around all seemed to be some kind of... animal. walking, eating, and even talking just like a normal human would. It was a sight you had never thought you would see in your entire life.

You eventually reached the house. It seemed to be two stories, and it looked like more than one person lived there. You walked up to the door and knocked on it.

*Knock Knock*

The door opened, and you saw a weary looking blue hedgehog standing in the doorway. It looked like he had just woken up.

"H-hello...?" The hedgehog yawned.

"Hi... my name is (Y/N). I was wondering if you could help me?"

The hedgehog suddenly became wide awake and got into a fighting stance.

"What did he do this time? Where is he? I'll take that Egghead down in seconds!"

You were caught off guard by this and backed up a little. You were confused about what he was talking about.

"What are you talking about? No one did anything! Or at least, I don't think..." You said, rubbing the back of your neck.

"Oh." The hedgehog went back to standing normally. "So, what did you need?"

"Well, it's a bit of a long story..." You said, trying to think of the best way to explain it.

"Don't worry, I've got time." He responded. He then stood out of the doorway and gestured inside. "Come on in."

You walked inside and looked around. It was a pretty simple house. From where you were standing, you saw that the kitchen was connected to the living room, and that there were two sets of stairs. One led to a second floor, while the other led to some kind of basement.

"Have a seat." The hedgehog said while sitting in a chair across from you. You sat on the couch, still looking around. The house was definitely too big for one person, so there must have been someone else living there.

"So, what's the problem?" He said while looking at you.

You sighed. This would take a lot of time to explain...
