Lost Portals (Tails X Reader)

The Rescue

"Well, this blows."

The prison cell you were put into had nothing but a bench and a barred window that was too high for you to even look through. You sighed as you kicked a rock across the cell floor.

"That guy is crazy. Locking me up in here, saying I have a 'special power' and stuff. That's bullshit!"

There was no way you could have any kind of power, right? It was just a coincidence. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But what Eggman said had stuck with you. What if he was right you? What if you actually were special? You looked down at your hands, examining them.

"What if..."

"Hey dearie, you might want to keep it down in there. Someone might hear you."

You quickly looked up. The voice came from the window. It sounded familiar...

"Well, if anyone would know about talking too much, it'd be you, Rouge." You responded, smirking.

"Say what you want, but I'm not the one that's locked up for running their mouth."

You smiled. It was nice to have a friend to talk to again. 

"Yeah, about that... I could use some help right about now."

"I would love to break you out, but I'm afraid I'm a bit busy right now."

"What do you mean!? Too busy to help out your friend that's stuck in prison?"

"Yep."

"Well, that's not very nice..." You grumbled.

"Hey, I said that I couldn't help you break out. I didn't say I couldn't get someone else to."

"What does that mean?" 

"What do you think it means?" You couldn't see her, but you could tell she was rolling her eyes. "Just give me some time, I'll send someone to help."

"Who? And when will they be here?"

No response. She had already left. You sighed.

"Damn bat..."

You sat down on the bench, and waited for your savior to arrive, wondering who it might be.

'Maybe it's Sonic, you thought, bored. Or maybe it'll be that Tails guy...'

You let your mind run wild as you sat waiting there for what felt like forever.

*Clatter*

You shot up, looking around. You had fallen asleep on the bench and were woken up by a strange noise. You looked over at the door to see someone standing there. Someone with keys.

"Hey! I swear, if you're one of Eggman's goons, I'll beat the hell out of you!" You said, standing up and getting into a fighting stance. But after you looked at the figure closer, you realized it kind of looked like...

"Sonic!? you're here to save me?"

The figure scoffed. Guess it wasn't Sonic.

"Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."

"I can tell." They replied. 

The door finally opened, and you finally got a good look at the figure. You could tell how you mistook him for Sonic. He was also a hedgehog, except black instead of blue, with red in his quills. After the door was open, he started walking away without you.
