You were nineteen years old and lived in a small apartment in a busy city called Edgeshire. You lived there with your younger brother, Jack. The two of you were really close since your parents died in a car accident years ago. You only had each other when that happened, so you bonded a lot. You didn't have any other family to go to, so you lived together in an apartment you had bought. You, being the older and more responsible one, had to take care of your brother and yourself by going to work, paying the bills, and making food.
Your day started like any other. You woke up, made breakfast, and helped your brother get ready for school. It was your first day you had off in a while, so you had some extra time to help Jack. Soon enough, it was time for him to go to school.
"I'll see you later, (Y/N)!" Jack exclaimed, running out the door.
"See ya." You said, laying down on the couch. You had been really busy lately. It was getting harder and harder to provide for both Jack and yourself. But it was nice to finally get some time to relax. You laid down on your couch and started to doze off.
*BOOM*
You were awoken by a startling crash and looked outside the window. Thunder. It was heavily storming now. You looked at the clock. Five hours had passed since you fell asleep. You got up and went to the kitchen, looking for something to drink.
After searching through the whole kitchen, you only found some empty water bottles. You decided you could go to the store with Jack after he got home, and for now you could head down to the local coffee shop a few blocks away. You grabbed your jacket and your watch and walked out the door.
You didn't mind the rain too much. All of it was kind of calming to you, even the loud cracks of thunder. You walked down the street until you saw a sign saying A and T's Coffee. It was one of the most popular coffee shops in all of Edgeshire. You walked inside and noticed a shortage in the amount of people there. 'Must be because of the rain,' you thought.
After getting your coffee, you checked the time. Jack would be home soon, and you wanted to be there when he got back. So you left the shop and headed home.
The streets were practically empty because of all the rain. It was somehow even worse now. You started walking a little faster, hoping to get out of the storm. It was calming before, but at this point, it was getting to be too much. You eventually started sprinting, trying to desperately get back to your apartment. You were running so fast you slipped on the sidewalk and fell onto the ground.
But you didn't land on the cold, hard surface of the sidewalk like you expected. It wasn't the road either. Hell, it wasn't even Edgeshire.
You landed in bright green.... grass?
