Taehyung bounces onto the cramped bus with excited steps. Out of the herd of dreadful student's he stands out like a sore thumb, his blue hair jumping up and down with each ecstatic step he takes. Unlike everyone else, he is quite optimistic about the whole idea of 'survival camp'. The thought of running around freely with all your mates by your side, telling spooky horror stories behind the creaky doors of cabins and eating unpleasant meals cooked by a grumpy chef just made him quiver with excitement. Taehyung was in it for the experience, despite it being good or bad.
Jimin, however, isn't quite as optimistic as his friend. He trudges behind Taehyung with slow irritant steps that mirror every other student in the year. Taehyung hops into the window seat, smiling cheekily at Jimin who doesn't even care that he's lost the game Taehyung had been playing of 'first to get the window seat wins'. In fact, he's rather glad; having to see the nice city landscape slowly evaporate into the dry country roads might just make him sick.
Just as Jimin is about to plop his bag in the carrier above their heads, an authoritative voice yells from across the bus.
"UH-UH-UH, you nasty pests shall not have the privilege of sitting next to who you please, not after what happened last time."
Taehyung's nudges Jimin's arms, his eyebrows furrowed with curiosity. "What happened last time?"
Jimin shakes his head tiredly, "You don't want to know."
Just as Taehyung opens his mouth to whine about wanting to know, the voice booms out again.
"You will be seated in alphabetical order, this will not only be your seating partner for the bus ride but will also be your partner for all the activities done in camp."
A collective groan rises from the group of students, some cursing under their breath while others make faces of annoyance. Taehyung frowns slightly too, his happy mood slightly dampening. The thought of having to be with someone other than his group of friends is rather unnerving.
"Okay, Ah Min Ho and Baemin Sik..."
After what seems to be an eternity of dreadful anticipation, the teacher finally calls out his name.
...Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung."
Taehyung's eyes widen in surprise and slight joy. He's thankful that he's with someone he knows. He walks over to Jungkook who barely acknowledges him and takes a seat next to the boy.
He slightly pouts over the fact that he's not seated at the window seat but brushes it aside. The bus ride starts and neither boys speak a word.
With Jungkook and Taehyung, things are much more different behind closed doors. It is kind of an unspoken agreement between them to keep whatever sort of relationship they have behind those doors rather than display it to the public. I mean for obvious reasons.
Taehyung tries to look out the window but most of Jungkook's broad frame is blocking his view. He looks around to see that most of the other student's have fallen back asleep, considering the fact that it is six in the morning. He huffs in annoyance. He would read or listen to music but his books and phone are in his travel bag so now he just has to sit here staring at the drool dripping out of his classmates' mouths.
"What are you frowning about?" Jungkooks deep voice slightly startles him, he turns around to see the boy taking off his earphones while turning his head to finally face him.
"Nothin'," Taehyung says while looking down. Jungkook stays silent for a while, observing the obvious pout on the other's pink lips.
"You're not lying, are you?" Jungkook's tone is firm; it makes the smaller boy rather anxious.
