Blue Eyed Boy-Chapter Nine

_____________________________________________________________________________________

The next day I had my date with Mark. I was looking forward to it because lately all I had been thinking about was Tyler. It could keep my mind off of him and let me live my life. The kiss was constantly replaying in my head. I tryed not to get my hopes up because, knowing Tyler, it would just break my heart in the end.

I texted Mark earlier in the day to see what time he was going to pick me up. He said that he would be picking me up at 5:00 for a showing of House at the End of the Street at 5:30. I was glad we were going to see that movie. I'd been wanting to go since I found out it had Jennifer Lawrence from The Hunger Games. Mark probably picked it because he thought I would get scared and he would get to comfort me. You'd think he would know that scary movies didn't freak me out seeing as which we'd been friends forever.

It was now 4:30 and I was currently trying to decide on an outfit. I had french braided my hair and applied some mascara and lip gloss. I didn't want to over do it and give him the impression that I was not opposed to this idea.

Hmmm...we were going to the movies so it was bound to be freezing. I ended up deciding on some light blue Hollister skinny jeans. On top I wore a baseball tee with three quarter length sleeves. I slipped on my grey Converse and grabbed my purse and navy blue Aero hoodie incase I got cold.

I sat on the couch in the living room and waited for Mark to arrive. At precisely five till the door bell rang. I got up from my comfortable position and answered it.

"Hey, Mark,"I greeted.

"Hey, Addison. You look great,"he smiled and brought something from behind his back.

It was a single white tulip. My second favorite flower.

"Thanks so much Mark! That's so sweet,"I took it from his hand and ran to the kitchen to put it in a vase.

He followed me in and sat on the couch to wait. When I walked back in he quickly got up and looked at me.

"Are you ready to go?"he asked.

"Yeah. You go ahead I just have to grab my purse and stuff,"he started out the door and I headed to grab my stuff.

I got it and quickly ran to the car. I hopped in and he pulled out. The whole ride was filled with easy chat and lots of laughing. It took about twenty minutes to get there and by then I was starting to really look forward to the rest of this date.

We headed up to the ticket lady and told her what we wanted. She printed the tickets and I started to dig in my purse for the money. I was just pulling it out when Mark grabbed my wrist, stopping me.

"What?"I asked, confused.

"This is a date. I pay for everything,"he answered, handing the lady some money.

I just shrugged as we headed to our theater room.

"Do you want any snacks or popcorn?"he asked.

"No, but can I get a cherry Icee?"I replied and he nodded eagerly.

A minute later he came back carrying my drink and his large coke flavored one. I smiled gratefully and we continued to the theater. We took a seat in the middle. Thankfully, there was no one else in there so we wouldn't have a problem with staying quiet. Mark and I have a tendency to talk about our favorite parts and what we were confused about through out the whole movie. I laughed at the previews...and then came the movie.
