"Ahah I can't believe it, and you really said that to him?" I laughed.
"Yes, it's incredible, and the funny thing is that I never saw him again" answered Grace.
"Oh God, and then? Which other stories did you have?"
"Actually this wasn't a real story...it was just an amorous encounter."
"Yes, you're right" I answered.
"And you? Have you ever dated someone?"
"I...uhm, yeah, at the kindergarten" I felt sad.
"Oh"
"Yeah, just one of those stories you experience when you're little. They all distanced themselves from me: I don't have friends, so surely i didn't have any boyfriends." I answered, almost crying.
She understood that I was sad.
"Hey, hey, calm down. Neither do I have any friends" she said to me.
"Seriously?" I opened my eyes widely.
"Unfortunately yes."
"And...Dan?" I asked.
"He was the only friend I've ever had, but I've only known him for one year, and he became my boyfriend as you can clearly see...so I don't have friends."
"I think that...we should meet each other more often then." I suggested.
"Yeah, I think that too."
We were lying on the bed since an hour, more or less, and we had already told each other everything we could. She told me how she met him in the new class and how she had her first relationship...and then we had obviously talked about me and my passions too.
"Do you want an ice cream?" I asked.
"Oh, you bet!"
"Great, I have some cones in the freezer, I don't know if you'll like them."
"Uhm...let's try."
So we ate some ice creams and we also added some Nutella, paying attention to not stain my bed.
"Sometimes i wonder where Daniel goes" said Grace.
"Yes, I heard that he said 'don't ask', why?"
"I don't know, sometimes he wants a lot of privacy and I don't want to insist" she answered.
"But you're his girlfriend...you should know!" I insisted.
"Hey, don't worry. I know, but it doesn't matter...we'll see." she answered gently.
"Oh, okay, think what you want, but I still think the same thing."
"I know, and you're right" she said.
The evening went really well, we talked a lot and ate a lot too, so much that when dinner time came, i wasn't hungry. But I still forced myself to eat something, while Grace didn't eat anything.
Later, at ten more or less (the time when my parents usually come home), I said goodbye to Grace after endless attempts to accompany her to her house.
"Okay so, what if we meet tomorrow Grace?" I asked.
"Sure, I don't have anything to do. Daniel can also come?" she asked.
"Yes, sure, as you want" I answered.
"Perfect, see you tomorrow then." she said.
"Where do we meet?" I asked.
"On the little hill?"
"Perfect, see you tomorrow."
"Bye Clare, and thank you." she hugged me.
"Are you sure you don't want to be accompa.."
"Yes" She stepped in.
"Okay then, see you tomorrow..at four o'clock!" I shouted while she was getting away.
"At four!" she answered.
