While I was riding, I continued thinking about that smile and the slow pace I was having made me arrive late at home.
I hurried to secure my red mountain bike with a safety lock and I ran to the doorbell.
(You didn't think I had a rose coloured bike with flowers and a basket in front of the handlebars right?)
"Who is it?" a familiar voice replied.
"Grandma it's me, I'm sorry I'm late."
"Sweetie, here you are finally...come inside."
The door opened with a deafening dull thud and I entered the house.
I immediately noticed the walls, which were different from usual.
"Grandma, did you paint the walls?" They were all waiting for me, sitting at the lunch table.
"Yes, we painted them yesterday, is it obvious?"
"Of course it is. Oh thanks God you have painted them, this house seemed like a hospital." I answered giggling.
"Yes, and we chose this colour because it's really bright and not so showy."
"Yeah it's really nice, it's a bright violet, I like it."
I sat at the table after greeting everyone. I didn't talk until I noticed a thing I hadn't noticed before..
"Where's Thomas?" I asked.
"He stayed at Jonathan's house to eat lunch with him, I'm sorry I didn't warn you." my mom stepped in.
"Don't worry, it was just to know." I smiled.
I spent the rest of the time discussing with my dad about a dance stage I wanted to do in summer, but he wanted me to rest to start the school more concentrated. Meanwhile my grandpa, grandma and mom were listening to us carefully and sometimes criticized our conversation.
After lunch I decided to go to the garden in front of my house to relax a little bit.
I started swinging on the swing and then later I made some rounds on the 'merry-go-round', but it seemed like the time didn't pass.
I was bored and I didn't know what to do aside from being alone trying to kill the time.
Suddenly I had an idea...I decided to go to the little hill where I spent my time when I had no one to stay with (basically most of my time), I always managed to not be so bored there, I looked at the clouds or drew. Maybe those seem boring things to do, but they weren't for me.
I got on my bike and started riding uphill, directed to the top of the hill and as soon as I arrived up there I realised I wasn't alone.
On a cloth arranged in the shade of a tree there were a girl and a boy, chatting. I thought I was in the way and so I distanced a little bit, giving up on spending some time there, but before I could even lift a finger something stopped me.
"Clare!" shouted the guy.
"Claaare!" I immediately recognized his voice.
Daniel.
