"My...Guardian Angel?" I asked, astonished and confused.

"Yes, I'm protecting you since the day you were born" answered Dave.

"What? What does this mean?" I looked at the 'guy' on the palm of my hand.

"See Clare, I've known you for a lifetime."

"I don't understand, I don't know who you are.."

"It all started exactly 17 years ago.."

"What are you talking about?"

"Just let me end my story and you'll have the answers to your questions."

"Alright" I sat on my bed, being careful to not make him fall down.

"Everything started 17 years ago, I was a teenager just like the others, I was almost 16 years old, the same age you are now, I was attending my school, I had friends and I had a normal life..until the day I discovered I had superhuman talents.

I had an amazing agility, I ran at least twice as much faster as the others and I was able to do a lot of things that couldn't be done by none of the guys of my age, and I was aware of that.

This brought a lot of advantages to me, but also a lot of hate and envy by the side of other people.

They started offending me, mistreating me and pranking me in every kind of way. They started from the most irrelevant jokes until they arrived to a really high level of bullying. I didn't even tolerate myself anymore.. the more time was passing, the more my talents increased, the more people hated me, the more I hated myself.

I reached a point where I didn't even want to live anymore..despite that, the love my mother showed me, even if I was feeling bad, gave me the strength to keep going."

"And what about your father?" I stepped in.

"My father died years ago, I never got to know him.." he had glistening eyes.

"Oh..." I was sad for him.

"I decided I had to keep on going for my mom, I was her only strong point, she was alone and I never had brothers or sisters, so we had to support each other.

Everything kept going like that for a year, more or less, until the day when something happened to me and it changed my life."

He paused.

"C'mon, go ahead." I incited him.

"I'm sorry. It hurts thinking about that again, but I have to." he looked down at my hand.

He was sweet.

"If you don't want to say that, it doesn't matter." I answered gently.

"Clare I want to. Otherwise I would have never started." even tho he was little, I noticed his melancholy smile.

"Okay." I smiled back. I wondered the way he was seeing me from that point of view.

"That day I was at home alone, my mom went to visit my grandparents.

I was talking to the girl I was hanging out with at that time, she was telling me she didn't want to hear about me anymore. Furiously I hung up the phone and threw a punch to the wall..considering my unnatural strength, I caused a deep hole.

I remained there staring at what I've just done, wondering for the millionth time where those talents, which made people so envying, came from.

In that moment I heard a noise coming from the other room, it was a footsteps noise coming closer.

I hid behind the door with my shoulders against the wall and waited; the steps were coming closer, then they suddenly stopped, almost in front of the entrance.

I could hear my heart increase the rhythm.

"Hey Dave, I know you're behind the door" said a voice.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" I answered scared without leaving my location.

"You'll figure that out only if you come out" answered a female and raspy voice, typical of a considerable aged woman.

At that point I exposed myself and found myself in front of a short and robust woman, with curvy breasts, curly and black hair up to the shoulders, she was elegantly dressed. She had a lot of jewellery and black make-up on her eyes, even the lipstick she had was black.

She looked at me as she was looking at a poor dog puppy, all alone and abandoned.

"Dave, Dave..my little Dave..you were so small.." she began.

"What are you talking about? I've never seen you before...who are you?" I interrupted her, trying to maintain distance between us.

"Obviosly you don't remember me, I removed everything from your mind, every single proof of that day."

"Which day?" I asked with my heart in my throat.

"The day your life had changed forever"

"What are you referring to?"

"Dave, Dave..c'mon..where do you think those superhuman powers you have come from? Do you think they are natural talents?"

"I've wondered about that for a lifetime...but I don't care. By now they are part of me." I could hear every single beat of my heart resound in my ears.

"Dear Dave, there's a thing you don't know.." She looked at me with superiority, as if she knew which my weak point was.

"Great, then I think this is the right moment to know that." I answered."

Dave stopped telling me the story for a moment, looked at my chest, stared at my chain and pendant for a moment, then he continued:

"By then I was so anxious to know that damn thing that it seemed like my heart could perforate my chest at any moment."
