"C'mon Clare, we all know that these things don't exist, fantasy is an invention."

"You really don't believe me?" she was surprised.

"Everybody knows that dwarfs, faries and elves don't exist...not to mention flying individuals who come out of mirrors" said Grace.

"But it's true, otherwise I wouldn't be here to tell that to you" puffed Clare.

"Maybe you dreamed that and you thought it was real."

"I'm telling you the truth!" she raised her voice.

"I'm starting to think that you're crazy" Grace looked at her.

They remained in silence for a moment, staring at each other, until Clare talked again.

"Okay you don't wanna believe me, then explain this to me."

She put her hand in her half-opened bag and stood firm for a moment, she took it out again and on her palm there was a little boy with two wings, who was stumbling in search of balance.

Grace got up to look better and put her hands on her mouth, opening her eyes widely.

She couldn't believe that.

"Oh my God" she sat down immediately fearing to faint "What's that?"

That little individual was staring at her with a curious look, in silence.

"He's Dave and as you can see this isn't a dream" said Clare satisfied.

"Oh God but that's.. impossible, I mean he has a human body in reduced dimentions and two wings..and.."

"Look, I know what I am like" Dave stepped in, smiling.

At that point she screamed.

"Oh my God, he can talk!"

"Yeah, and even a lot" answered Clare, laughing.

"Really funny" was his answer.

"Look, I'm not kidding" she pouted.

"Ah ah ah, just know that if I weren't this little, I would have already punched you" he gave her the cold shoulder playfully.

"Now it's you who's being the funny one huh?" answered her laughing.

He turned around satisfied "So, it was a joke! I knew it!"

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry I'm interrupting your truly touching conversation but I just wanted to say I believe you now" said Grace.

"Cool" answered Dave.

"So will you help us find the key?" asked Clare enthusiastically.

"I don't really know how could I help you" answered Grace.

"Neither do I and neither does Dave" Clare smiled.

"Since when are you so intimate with me?" he answered smiling back.

"You're the one who said you have been knowing me since I was born" she shrugged her shoulders.

"Okay then" she smiled "I think we'll have fun." Grace stepped in.

The confirmation he was waiting made Dave so happy that his smile seemed to reach his ears.

"Yeeees how wonderful!" he took flight (literally) and risked to hit his head against the ceiling.

"How do I explain it to my mom?" asked Grace ignoring Dave, who was about to kill himself.

"Oh you don't have to tell her! She'll never believe you!" answered Clare.

"Should I just go away from house like it was nothing?"

"Yes, exactly" stepped in Dave, who was hovering in the air.

"Okay, she's going to kill me."

"At least you lived a wonderful life" he said.

"He's joking." Clare interrupted him.

"I hope so" Grace smiled "I'll just change my clothes and then we can go."

"Mmmh okay" she answered while Grace was getting away.

Her mind was wandering in thousands of thoughts, it was Dave who made her come back into reality.

"Hey, how do we find that key?" he asked her.

"You really don't know?" she answered while rubbing her eyes.

"No.. how are those equipments with a keyboard that you often use called?"

"C'mon, you really don't know what a computer is?"

"I have been trapped in a mirror for more than 15 years and those things didn't exist at that time."

"Or maybe you didn't know they had invented them."

"Probably." he smiled.

"By the way, how old are you?"

"Me? Well, 17, I think."

"You really don't know?"

"I don't know Clare, time has stopped for me, I'm still a teenager and maybe I'll forever be one."

"We'll do it Dave, I believe in it."

"Me too." he smiled.

"Okay, now let's see what we're able to find, cover your ears, just for a moment" said Clare.

"Graaaaaaaaaaace! Can I use your PC?"

"Of courseee! Go ahead!" answered a voice behind the bathroom door.

"Did you find anything?" asked Grace.

"Here you are! We did but we have to go now, I'll tell you everything on the road." answered Clare.

"Let's go!" said Dave.
