Hello Venix! So nice to see you again!

It was a raging storm, grey waves beating down on the fragile build of the ship

It was a raging storm, grey waves beating down on the fragile build of the ship. The sails were being pulled back and forth, the strong gust of the wind unraveling the ropes and turning the ship around.

Barracks of wood splintered, allowing the waves to rush in and flood the sleeping cabinets. Gallons of water drowned Venix in their depths, inky darkness surrounding her until she could see nothing and hear only the roaring ocean.

She opened her mouth to scream and look around for Lucien, but he was nowhere to be seen. The water levels were rising and very little space was left to breathe. Thrusting herself upwards, Venix broke through the water surface, her forehead hitting the top of the cabinet as she struggled to push the wood upwards. It wasn't budging and her magic was useless in this setting.

"Help! Somebody help!" Venix yelled through the roaring water, but her voice was soon drowned out by the water once again.

Venix let herself slip through the depths of the water, suffocating her until she could no longer thrash among the waters.

She could feel her body restricting, her lungs struggling to burst open and breathe, her breath short and shallow. Her body was giving up and the very existence of life was slipping away from her.

Venix held her breath as she swam through the dark waters, pushing herself to get to the top of the boat to find Lucien. Her fingers were able to grasp the railing of the boat and pull herself up to the chaotic seas when claws wrapped around her ankle and pulled her downward.

The Bloodbone screamed as she was pulled back into the waters, a slimy hand wrapping around her mouth and the silhouette of a white ash dagger inching close to her heart. The outline of slate grey eyes met her and a crushing pain catapulted through her body before the cracking of her bones rang through the water and everything went black.

Venix awoke with a startled scream, sweat dripping down her face as she thrashed around the sheets. She looked around the small sleeping cabinet, her eyes going over to the makeshift window in the corner that looked out to the dark ocean.

Her throat burned as she continued to scream, hair sticking to her face as she wiped her face clean, taking in a deep breath as she tried to calm herself down. Loud footsteps echoed from above and the door to the sleeping cabinets opened.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Lucien asked, stepping into the dim light. Venix took a breath, nodding as she looked around the room.

"I-I think so. I don't know" she replied, rolling up the sleeves of her dress.

Lucien walked over to her bed, pulling the blankets off.

"Hey. It's okay" he breathed, reaching over to open the window and allow the cool ocean air to drift inside. "You're okay."
