The afternoon soon made way for the descending darkness of the early evening. All the errands that were written out for the day were completed and now the night called to them, strong winds whipping past the sand on the shores.

The dark waves of the monstrous sea slammed against the boat as Lucien approached the shores. The cold wind of the night pierced through his black jacket, his white hair blowing past his face as the cold sand slipped through his shoes.

He adjusted the heavy bag on his shoulders, looking behind him to see Venix not trailing too far behind. She still wore her all-black outfit, her long hair tied up, and her bag adjusted on her back. Besides her, Elinwy followed close behind his new master, his amber eyes piercing through the descending darkness of the night.

Side by side, the two truly looked like a match made in hell.

Darren followed her closely, tucking his book into the pocket of his jacket before picking up his strides. In a short amount of time, he was able to catch up to Venix, nodding in her direction as they approached Lucien. "I hope we didn't keep you waiting," Darren said, patting Lucien on the back. He shook his head, looking over the shores once again.

"I've waited longer" Lucien replied, a sly smile on his face. "As long as you have been waiting for a woman." Darren hissed, a humorous smile slipping on his face. "You wound me, dear friend. If I had a dagger in my hand, you would be gone by now" Darren teased.

Venix appeared beside him, her eyes trained on the ocean in front of her. Lucien watched her in silence, noticing the longing in her eyes as she watched the waves rise and beat down on the boat. Elinwy nuzzled her feet but she didn't pay any mind, simply letting herself get lost in her mind.

"Venix" Darren called out, his stern voice breaking through her thoughts. She shook her head, her eyes sliding over to him. She cocked her brow in question, frowning slightly. "What can I help you with?" she asked, folding her arms over her chest. He smiled, shaking his head. "Nothing. You seemed truly submersed in whatever was in front of you. I was simply bringing you back to reality."

"Do you get pleasure disturbing my peace?" she asked in a cold voice. He nodded, a smirk pulling on his face. "Very much so, dear BloodBone" he replied, causing her to playfully roll her eyes. Lucien suppressed a smile, his eyes landing on Elinwy who stayed by her side, his amber side scanning the land before him.

"Curious eyes you have" he spoke to the black wolf who snapped his head up at his voice. His sharpened teeth shined through the darkness, his large nose sniffing around Lucien's feet. After validating that he was not dangerous, he stayed still as the siphon ran his fingers through his thick fur, watching him carefully.

"He's a bit of an odd one but he's already won my heart" Venix whispered, stooping down to pet the wolf. Elinwy seemed to smile, clearly favoring his mater's touch over Lucien's. He smiled, turning his head over to the BloodBone who wrapped her arms around the wolf, her tough demeanor melting away for a split second to reveal a soft and vulnerable woman. Her eyes seemed to swell with an emotion that was never present, a smile breaking through her face.
