Zoey:

I wasn't ready for this, I can't do this. My mind was screaming at me as I pushed through the school doors and took a deep breath. I noticed then that the students around me were crying. Most of them sat in prayer circles and held each other.

"You bitch! You killed him!" Katie started toward me, but two people got in her way, standing infront of me almost protectively. I noticed the girl, it was Leila, my new neighbor. The guy was tall, atleast six feet, and looked strong. Katie stopped charging at me then and looked between the two.

"Who exactly did this girl kill?" Leila asked, a look of amusement on her face.

"She killed Chace! He gave that crazy bitch a ride home, she didn't come to school for a day and then he was found dead just a little ways down the road from her house! Explain that you stupid twat!" Katie yelled, tears running down her cheeks.

I was a little at shock. At first, the fact that Chace was dead, then the fact that everyone in the school believed that I, weighing in at 92 pounds and 5'2, could kill a star quarterback.

"You honestly believe as small as she is that she could kill a full grown man?" The guy that had defended me along with Leila took the words right out of my head.

Katie looked up at him, I noticed that a shift came over her mood and she had the audacity to reach out and run her fingertips across his arm, "I can change your mind on that baby, just give me thirty minutes." She ran her tounge across her teeth and I held back the urge to gag.

Leila laughed then, and she turned around, pushing me ahead of her as she walked into her first period. Luckily, we had the same class together.

"You didn't have to do that. Defending me is social suicide," I said, brushing my hair behind my ear.

"I just moved here, do you honestly think I care about my reputation. After seeing your face yesterday and the I fell excuse, I decided that you needed some friends," she smirked and looked up as the teacher walked in the room.

"The guy that was with you, was that your boyfriend?" I whispered quietly.

"No," Leila laughed, "that was my brother, Max."
