*about half an hour has passed*
*y'all are filming an overnight*

Sam held the camera as Colby had the dowsing rods in his hands. Colby was asking the basic "is there anyone here with us" questions and whatnot. There was some slight movement, but nothing drastic.

"I don't believe in the dowsing rods," you stated mockingly. "I don't believe spirits are turning those rods, don't you think they have better things to do? I don't think making an appearance on your YouTube channel would be among their top priorities."

"Apparently it's among your top priorities since you're here," Colby joked.

"I guess you're not wrong," you laughed.

Suddenly there was a knocking sound.

"Did that come from the wall?" Sam asked.

"There's probably people staying in the room next door," you attempted to supply a reasonable explanation.

"No, they told us there was no one else staying in our section of the floor tonight, remember?" Colby said.

"That doesn't mean there wouldn't be maids or something," you offered.

"Let's just keep using the dowsing rods and see if we hear anything else," Sam said.

"Here, you try it since you don't believe in them," Colby said while handing them to you. Rain was hitting the window hard and there was a long rumble of thunder. There was supposed to be a pretty bad storm coming.

"Nice, I love a good thunderstorm while ghost hunting," you laughed. "Not creepy at all." You grabbed the dowsing rods, but you weren't quite sure how to hold them. "How do I..."

"Here," Colby said before adjusting your grip on the rods, touching your hands a little more than he needed to.

"What do I even ask?"

"Start out with asking if anyone's here like I did," Colby replied.

"Uh, okay. Is anyone here with us?" There was another knock, a little louder this time. "That's probably just the floors creaking or something, this place is kind of old," you said quickly. There was a loud rumble of thunder.

"Do you hear that?" Sam asked. It sounded like the sink was running in the bathroom. The three of you ran to the bathroom to check it out. Sure enough, there were big drops of water dripping quickly from the sink.

"Oh my god," you said, slightly panicked. You quickly turned to leave the small bathroom, but almost walked right into Colby.

You backed away a step from Colby and tripped on the raised edge of the shower, which was a few inches above the ground, falling backwards. The lights went out right before your head smacked against the shower floor, the only light from a dim red emergency light.

"Y/n," Colby called out.

"What happened to the lights?" Sam asked. He flipped the light switch a few times. "The storm must have knocked out the power. Here," Sam said while turning a light on on the camera, shining it in your direction.

Your head hurt really bad and you couldn't move. All of the air had been knocked out of your lungs as well. Colby was leaning over you. "Y/n are you okay?" Now that he could see you he lifted your head with one arm and rested his other hand on your stomach.

You tried to say 'I'm okay' even though you hurt everywhere, but only a whimper came out of your mouth. Your lip quivered. You were determined not to cry.

"Do you need to go to the hospital or something?" Sam asked nervously, still shining the light.

You breathed in sharply and tried again. "I'll be okay," you said between whimpers. You really did sound delicate and "pathetic," the word you always associated delicate with. "I just need a minute to catch my breath." But that wasn't true, tears started streaming down your face and you started to really cry.
