Pete's POV
Grabbing my bass, I got out of the tour bus with the others. We had our show in an hour so we had to set up. Two more bands would play and then it would be our turn. I've played so many shows that you'd think I'd get tired of it but every new show is more exciting than the last. The adrenaline from each concert I get and playing the bass lines I wrote always excites me. Hearing Patrick sing the lyrics I wrote always reminds me of the times I wrote them and what I've been through.
We headed out to greet other bands that would have arrived by now. I decided to text Mikey, hopefully he'd be here by now. I couldn't wait to see him again and my veins filled with excitement at the thought.
Pete: Hey, Mikey! Are you here now?
Mikey: Yeah, I'm over near the left side of the stage
Pete: Okay, I'm here too! I'll meet you there!
Mikey: See you!
I put my sidekick back in my pocket and told the guys I was going to meet Mikey.
"Okay, have fun!!" Joe teased.
I grinned running off towards where Mikey was. When I spotted some body in a black and white sweater with a grey beanie and his glasses and awkward knees I knew I found him.
Mikey's POV
I turned around after hearing louder footsteps and saw Pete running towards me. I grinned.
"So you found me," I grinned.
"I could tell from the awkward knees," Pete smirked.
"Hey!" I laughed.
"Just kidding. I could tell because you're the cutest person here," Pete smiled at me sweetly.
I blushed immensely. I was so flustered I could barely say something. "I could tell because you're the shortest," I teased him attempting to regain my confidence.
"Hey!" He said smiling at me. "You know that's Frank."
"Fair enough," I laugh.
Me and Pete begin to watch the band playing. We were near some security guards just so we wouldn't get attacked, people are crazy. We've been touring with Thrice for most of the tour and I've enjoyed hearing from them. The beginning of their song "All That's Left" began. The drums and slower guitar slowly began to pick up as the lead singer began screaming into the microphone.
"Ah this is the best part!" Pete smiled as the bridge began.
"It is!" I smiled. Slowly they began wrapping up their set and it would be time for us to go on soon.
"I better head over to the guys," I said to Pete.
"Okay, I'll come with you," Pete said to me as he grabbed my hand. "Just so we don't lose each other," he gestured towards our hands.
"Sure," I blushed.
I headed back towards the tour bus to grab my bass, Pete still clinging to me like a lost puppy. When we got into the tour bus I grabbed my bass in the case.
"Pete I have to hold this, I can't hold onto your hand anymore," I said laughing.
"Fine, but you owe me," he winked. That blush began creeping back on my face, but truth be told it never left.
"Okay," I laughed and headed out the door. I had to wonder what'd I owe him.
......................................................................................................
When we got to the stage there were 15 minutes till the show.
"Well there you are," Gerard said.
"Done making out with your boyfriend," Frank smirked.
Gerard slapped Frank playfully and I gave Frank a death glare.
I turned to Pete. "You gonna stay and watch again," I said.
"Whatever you want, Mikeyway," he said. Whenever he called me that I couldn't help but smile.
"I think I could handle you staying," I teased. "Anything to say before I go?"
"You still owe me something."
I shook my head smiling to the floor as I walked up on stage, Pete sitting on the stage again.
I began playing "Give em' Hell Kid." It was one of my favorite things to play. At the beginning of playing I got nervous playing alone, but later I took it as a blessing. It was fun to have 5 seconds of just playing the intro. The fans began screaming as Ray and Frank came in on guitar and finally when Gerard came in they all began to scream the lyrics. I looked back towards Pete who was smiling and he gave me a thumbs up.
I tried not to get distracted, but I pressed on the wrong fret. Damn you, Pete Wentz and your cute smile I thought.
We moved through the set list playing songs off of both records. Eventually coming in with "Our Lady of Sorrows" and I smiled back to the memory of me and Pete.
"So, when you get to the bridge you have to pull off and go to the third fret and then continue from there. Okay?" I remembered Pete saying and I did just that. The song was a thrill and the fans screamed back to us.
"Oh how wrong we were to think," Gerard sang with Frank singing in some backing vocals.
"That immortality meant never dying," the crowd sang back. Gerard smiled. He loved when the crowd sang his words back to him.
"Goodbye, Indiana," Gerard screamed into the microphone. Frank was still head banging and then screamed into the microphone as me and Ray finished up the song. Gerard brought the microphone up to me, "Mikey, what do you want to say?" Fuck he always did this I'm not prepared for social interaction.
"I hope y'all enjoyed our show, see you next time," I stuttered into the microphone and then turned back only to see Pete laughing at me. The crowd screamed at my words and we walked off of the stage and I stared at the yellow and blue warped tour sign at the back of the stage.
As I walked closer to Pete he got down from his seat. "Smooth talking," Pete laughed.
"Oh, come on like you could do better," I said.
"I think I could," Pete smirked.
"Oh, really?" I asked, trying not to stutter.
"Yes. By the way, you still owe me that favor and I think I know what I'd like it to be."
We started walking when I finished packing up my bass.
"Well what would that be?" I asked anxiously.
We got near the tour bus and entered it.
"Exactly what Gerard interrupted us from doing."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
y'all I'm sorry that this chapter is a bit shorter, don't worry chapter 7 is a lot longer. So I'm planning to write a chapter and then I'll upload, but like I'm just trying to stay ahead so I have time to edit each of the chapters. Also I changed POV a lot, but I just can't stick with one point of view and I like writing from multiple.
Hopefully you enjoyed!
