His skin seemed more sensitive than before. He could feel every sweet touch Naruto gave to him. This is wrong. This is all wrong. This wasn't supposed to be his future. Sasuke suddenly snapped out of it and reacted just as he would a day ago. He pushed Naruto off of him and slammed him to the ground, without saying a word. Naruto let out a yelp of pain.
"Wha- Ouch!!" He exclaimed in pain. "Hey.. what the heck was that for?! We're just playing around, so there isn't any need for you to hurt me." Naruto reasoned, standing up and holding his arm, which had been bruised from when Sasuke had slammed him into the floor. Sasuke stood up as well and rubbed his eyes. He was confused. He was sure he wasn't starting to like Naruto, right? He needed to shut this down. Quickly.
"Naruto," Sasuke said blankly and bluntly, "You're being inappropriate," he said as he turned away from his teammate.
"It's getting late. You should head home, we have to do assignments tomorrow and Sakura and I don't need you messing up. You need to focus on being a good ninja." Sasuke said, in almost a sour tone. Naruto's heart dropped a little.
"What's with the sudden mood change, teme?" Naruto questioned, taking a step closer to his teammate. Sasuke stepped away, as he felt like the more he saw of Naruto going forward, the more confused he would be. Sasuke stood beside his door frame, waiting for Naruto to leave. He couldn't look at him. Naruto snarled his nose and tilted his head at him.
"I thought we were having a good time, I-I'm confused, Sasuke. Have I done something wrong?" He asked, not wanting Sasuke to be upset with him. This newfound relationship that they've discovered has been something great. Something to distract Naruto from the imminent loneliness that inevitably shows up late in the night.
"Naruto, don't be stupid." Sasuke said, coldly. This sparked a reaction from Naruto.
"What? Sasuke, I'm trying to be nice to you here! I'm trying to get along with you just like Kakashi and Sakura have wanted! What's the matter with you?" He exclaimed, placing his hands on Sasuke's shoulders. "Don't you see that I'm trying? Just like you and Sakura wanted?" His voice lowered, now taking another step closer to Sasuke. He let his hands stay there for a moment, taking in their warmth on his shoulders. Though, after a second, Sasuke swatted both of Naruto's hands away, angrily.
"Naruto! Stop this! Don't you see that getting close to me is wrong? That I'm wrong?" He yelled, now looking at Naruto. Naruto's face flushed.
He took a step back as Sasuke wanted. "Sasuke, I--" he started, "No!! Stop making me confused!" Sasuke swiftly interrupted. "I'm tired of it! You're playing with my feelings and it's distracting me from what's important. We both need to be working harder unless you want to go all the way back to the academy. All you do is slow people down. You're simply useless!" He loudly put, yelling in Naruto's face.
After a couple of seconds, the words sank into the both of them. Naruto lowered his head and nodded at the ground. He stepped away from Sasuke and went to the door. Sasuke watched him walk away but felt the urge to stop him. Why didn't he want Naruto to go, even though he so plainly put that he did? Was he lying to himself?
He walked towards Naruto, now wanting to apologize for everything he just said. "Wait, Naruto, wait! I'm sorry, just listen-" He started to say, but before he could finish, Naruto closed the front door. Leaving Sasuke alone again.
