My team had decided on a team name and chant which went "team 4 give us a roar" from our team leader lara, to which we responded "roar", and then lara would say "who are we" and our response "four army". By this point we also had an inside joke because our assistant team leader, James had walked us in the wrong direction multiple times so whenever we went anywhere we said "just don't let james lead us"

This was our day for the expedition which is a 4 1/2 to 6 hour walk, on this walk we went along countryside and learnt about plants and their properties and whichever team won the most points for pointing out names and uses of plants and picking up litter to put in the bin would get to pick two instructors to pour buckets of water on before going home on the Friday. Along the walk we went past a canal which we stopped at and watched the boats go in and out of for a bit, we also went through riddles. We got half way through the walk and stopped in a clearing for rest and games; one game was where we got into groups of three, one person would be blind folded and the other two would have to guide them towards a chosen tree using words. We also played a game where we were all in a circle and had to pass a rope hoop around us all in two minutes without breaking the circle. Finally before setting off the instructor let us all try setting a woodland fire. A few times we swapped map reader and we also had our portable speaker playing music along the way.

Once we got back to camp we all sat in our tents waiting for the other teams to get back and then went for dinner.

As it was the final night we had a bonfire with all the groups from the runcorn, widnes and Liverpool ncs groups and shared marshmallows, music, and all of the team leaders and assistants wore animal face masks, someone in our group brought face paints and so we painted each other and team 4 went around our group rubbing red lines along our foreheads and saying simba. When we went back to our tents we all sat around one group of our team who shared a tent and had decorated it and listened to music and wore glow in the dark bands. That was my favourite night, even though another one of our team members went home after finding fleas in her tent and she did not come back for the rest of ncs.
