Mia's POV

I went to my first period class with my mind racing through everything that had just happened. My stomach was still fluttering with butterflies and my heart still thudding in my ears. I couldn't believe that Liam wanted me to be his girlfriend. I hoped I played it cool and put up walls high enough so he couldn't see passed them. I secretly fantisized being with him every since I first met him. Now I had the chance, but turned it down. I sighed wishing that I wasn't such a coward.

The tardy bell rang and I was still completely unaware of what was happening around me. All my attention belonged to what had happened ten minutes ago. He probably thinks I am an idiot for telling him I don't believe in love. My cheeks burned and I grew angry, He is an idiot for believing in it, I thought to myself. But I still couldn't shake the burning feeling of when he touched my hand. Or the way he looked at me. Stop it Mia!

I shook my head trying to force the thoughts out. I looked up at my Spanish teacher trying to concentrate on what he was saying. He was old and balding and had a lisp that made it almost impossible to understand what he was saying. I sighed and looked around the room, my hands were tapping absentmindly on the desk and I was feeling jittery.

Nyla, the girl who was sitting next to me stared at me smiling. "Are you okay?" She asked seeming amused. I have known Nyla since the fifth grade. She is the average blonde hair beauty, that lives and breaths gossip.

"Fine," I muttered. Quickly I stopped the tapping and began to sway my right leg back and forth. Nyla smirked and looked away sighing.

I ignored her and kept trying to think of something other than Liams dark blue eyes. They are so blue that they put any ocean or lake to shame. So blue that I could melt in them. I smacked myself out of it and prayed that the class would end soon.

That is how second period went too. FInally I was able to grab my sack lunch and go enjoy my peanut butter and jelly sandwitch. Hopefully eating will calm me. I found Emma's smiling face through the crowd of people and made my way over to her.

"Hey!" I said a little too energetically.

"Hi..." she laughed. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine! Why does every one keep asking me that!" I throwing my hands up in the air, feeling exhasted.

"Okay," Emma said with a look of confusion. We sat down at an empty table and began eating in silence.

"Did you guys hear?" Lizzie squealed as she sat down along with another girl named Mckinlee. "Liam punched Bracken and got suspended for two days!" My jaw dropped, and Emma sighed.

"Why do you think that I care!" Emma said in an annoyed tone.

"I just thought that you would want to know," Lizzie blinked with bewilderment.

"Well I don't!" Emma barked and looked down at her food with disgust apparent on her face.

"Why did he punch him?" I blurted out without meaning to. A whole two days without seeing him  seemed like years. Why do I care? I need to keep my thoughts similar to Emma's. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care. I chanted.

"Who knows, they are guys. They go around looking for reasons to punch each other," Mckinlee answered. I just nodded and shoved most of my sandwich in my mouth.

The day went on slowly and I started to count the seconds until the final bell would ring. When it did it sounded like music to my ears. I went and sat in my car and blasted the music. When Emma and Jay finally made their way into the car I sped off taking a deep breath. I made it through the day without going absolutely insane.

My cell phone chimed, telling me that I got a text message. I looked at it when I came to a stop sign and read it: We need to talk! My heart pounded excruciatingly hard again when I saw that it was from Liam.
