The whole entire ride to school Emma is talking my ear off and she doesn't stop talking until we get to my locker. I can't really understand what she is saying, because she is talking a hundred miles per hour, but what I can get out of it I am guessing that her and her two year boyfriend are breaking up. Emma and Liam have gone out with each other since sophomore year. It wasn't super surprising that they are calling it off because they haven't really talked for a few months.
"I don't even know what went wrong!" Emma continued, "One day everything was just fine and the next thing I know he is telling me that he just isn't feeling it anymore. I tried so hard to talk him out of it, but he already has is mind set."
" You were trying to talk him out of it?" I asked feeling a little disgusted, "You are so pretty, you can do so much better than him. If he doesn't want you anymore than you should just say okay and move on. Besides you don't want to be with one guy for the rest of your life yet right? Your only seventeen!"
Emma gave a shaky sigh and nodded, "I guess your right...I just can't believe that after two years it is just going to end like that. You don't think that there is another girl do you?"
"If there is then I know that she won't even be in comparison with you. She probably has a boring personality and no brains whatsoever." I think I was laying this on a little thick, but it made her happy. And she doesn't have a father who will stick up for her and make her feel good about herself.
"Your right, I guess I better get to class, bye!" Emma said looking a lot happier now.
"Okay see you," I smiled and then turned to go to Chemistry. The halls are always crowded but I usually can make it through alive. In some parts of the hall it seems impossible to not hit someone with your backpack. After getting a few dirty looks I finally walk through the door for Chemistry. Sitting in one of the back seats is Liam. I completely forgot he was in this class.
Liam has dark blonde hair, deep blue eyes, tanned skin, and a very athletic build. He isn't like any regular jock, even though he is one. He is really nice, super funny and has been one of my best friends since he moved here my freshman year. To be honest I had a huge crush on him, even though he was dating my one of my best friends. But I would never have told him or any of my friends. Luckily the crush didn't last too long, but I still have a soft spot for him.
When he looked up and caught me staring at him he smiled and patted the seat next to him. I looked down trying not to blush and walked over to the seat. Before I sat down I said, "Hmm I don't know if I should sit by you. Didn't you just break up with Emma?" I teased him. He gave me a look of disbelief, and when I laughed he suddenly realized it was a joke.
"Oh she told you? Look I didn't break up with her because I don't like her anymore I still think she is great, but I just don't like her in that way." He tried to explain.
I just laughed again, finally sitting down. "Well I don't really care, this is your and Emma's personal business. So how did your game go yesterday?" I asked, changing the subject.
"We won 20-7!" He said looking proud. Liam isn't the quarterback or the kicker, and I honestly don't know what he does because I know absolutely nothing about football. But I think he might be a defender.
I smiled and gave him a pat on the back, "Well good for you."
