Now you may have heard of creatures called 'Pokémon' or even teams of extraordinary individuals through time and space called 'Power Rangers'; but for this story, you must forget everything you know.

The names and deeds of morphenominal heroes such as Zordon, Jason, Tommy, etc – and even their greatest foes – are unknown here. Similarly, unlike Kanto, Johto, and the countless other regions that make up the Pokémon world, here people do not live alongside Pokémon. Instead, Pokémon are simply folklore that are known purely through ancient writings and the occasional artifacts. People viewed them much in the same way that we today view the gods and creatures of ancient Egyptian, Greek and Norse mythologies – that is of course, except for a select few.

Though universes, timelines and situations may have differed, an organization by the name of Team Rocket still began to take root. At its head was their radical leader Lucas G. Zekk, a man who spent his life studying these various myths as well as tales of beings that could actually harness the power of these 'Pokémon'. Though he promised to make these myths a reality for the betterment of the human race, deep down he was driven by nothing more than a childhood dream that had long since turned sour. Whatever he couldn't buy with his vast fortune, he dedicated his resources into pursuing 'other' means of acquiring. Whether looting museums or storming famous archaeological sites with small armies, he would stop at nothing to – as he would say - 'help the world evolve'.

Sensing the impending danger, a group of ancient PokéZords awoke and entrusted their PowerBadges to 6 individuals they found worthy, creating this era's first new team of PokéRangers. And though they each came from very different worlds, they learned their powers the best they could and one by one found each other.

The Mamoswine Ranger: A young man chosen not for his strength of body, but rather his strength of heart. Whereas others saw a class clown, the Mamoswine spirit saw one who came from a hard life, but chose to fill his heart – and the hearts of those around him - with laughter instead of bitterness. Such an individual would be invaluable in the tough times to come.

The Skarmory Ranger: Between her looks, intelligence and athleticism, it's pretty easy to guess why people referred to her as 'the Princess Prodigy' - her family's wealth didn't hurt either. Though when it came to picking a worthy partner, the Skarmory spirit was more impressed by her overwhelming modesty. To be born with such gifts, and still be so humble and caring was truly the mark of a future Ranger.

The Aggron Ranger: The biggest heart of anyone you'd ever meet – with the imagination to match! Someone who spent his days dreaming of ways to bring more smiles to the world and never hesitating to put someone else's needs before his own – for better or worse. That is why the Aggron spirit chose him: to serve as the ever-present shield so that this kind soul could begin making the world a better place.

The Raikou Ranger: Whereas others saw an uncaring loner, the Raikou spirit saw a brilliant mind, caring heart and free spirit that was starting to get a little too used to being alone. This new team of Rangers would need a strategist – someone who was used to simply observing – but it'd also need a fighter. And so the Raikou spirit found its champion; and the girl, found her first true friend.

The Tyrantrum Ranger: Growing up, he was expected to become 'a winner', and how sometimes that might require 'using others as game pieces'. He never wanted any part of that. To him, a leader doesn't use or belittle people, but rather inspires them to become the best versions of themselves. That is why the Tyrantrum spirit chose – and his team continues to choose – him to lead.
