"Hurry up!" Mitchelle said as he came into my room.

I gathered the rest of my belongings and stuffed the photo into my bag.

"Where are we even going?" I muttered with a drained voice.

"You're going to the hospital with your brother. We need to get you..." he paused, "Tested."

"Tested for what!" I yelled at him.

"Let's just go to the hospital okay." he said with a sigh.

We walked towards the car and he opened it for me. That's the nicest and most helpful thing he's done all day. I looked back at the house while holding back tears. My mind struggled to comprehend all that happened in the past few hours. Mitchelle must have noticed because he parked the car on the side of the road and pulled me towards him for a hug.

"It's okay sweetie." he whispered.

That was the first time that someone had comforted me. Since my mom was never around I always had to comfort my brother and that meant no comfort for me. My mind kept going back an hour ago. Where I was holding my brother as my mom was getting carried away by ambulance. My head started to hurt as I kept thinking about everything.

"How long until we get there?" I asked Mitchelle yawning.

"About an hour. Depends on the traffic though. I was gonna get you some ice cream. I heard you mumbling in your sleep about your family and I want to try and make you feel as comfortable as possible." He said keeping his eyes on the road.

"Okay, and I'm sorry you had to hear--"

"It's okay." he interrupted.

"Can you tell me who my family is?" I asked trying to stay calm.

"Your mom stole you. She never really was your mom. She took you in and then we believe she gave you a drug to swipe your memory. That's what the test is for. As for your brother, we believe her was drugged too. You see the birth was real but she took the wrong baby purposefully. Your dad left during the pregnancy because she got pregnant by a drug addict. The family that is yours we still have to find. Since you were stolen it's hard to know. When I first heard about the story I thought you were gonna be so emotional. But I am surprised at how strong you are. You are a strong girl Mary. So strong." he said as he looked over at me.

"So, what's gonna happen to my mom-well- ex mom?" I asked stuttering.

"She is most likely gonna get arrested Mary." he answered softly.

I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.

"I need to rest."

"Okay. " he replied as he grabbed a blanket from the backseat and covered me up.
