"Mary? Mary! Wake up! Oh my god c'mon!"
The force of Mitchelle's hands against my side woke me up abruptly.
"What, what. I'm alright chill."
"Are you sure you are? You blacked out for quite some time.", he paused "I was starting to get worried." his voice trailed off as if he were going to say something else.
"So what happened to those guys, where are we, and what happened to your face?" As my vision focused a noticed a gash by his left eye. It wasn't too deep but the area surrounding it was swollen and a streak of dry blood ran down his face.
"I was able to get them to leave--"
"What did you ask them to leave nicely?" I interrupted chuckling.
"No, I had to kill them. As you can see-", he paused and turned his cheek with the injury towards me "they fought back."
"You didn't answer one question though. Where are we?"
"We are going to a hotel. You need to get some real sleep." he looked at my exhausted eyes and I could tell he saw right through me.
He started the car and pulled out onto the icy road.
*******************************************************************************************************************The drive was quiet other than the faint talk show in the background. It seemed almost too quiet, uncomfortably quiet. Mitchelle's attention was on the road ahead of him. There was an expression on his face though, an expression I couldn't read. I didn't realize how long I had been studying him but apparently he had. I looked away fast trying to mask the color of my face from him. I hated how one simple glance from him could make my face so red.
"Hey Mary, are you feeling alright?" he spoke quietly almost as soft as a whisper.
I looked down at my hands which we shaking uncontrollably, "I don't know."
It had been about fifteen minutes since the shaking had happened. Along with the shaking came an aching in my chest and the sensation of the world around me spinning. I quickly glanced at Mitchelle hoping he could read my eyes which were screaming help. He seemed to notice my inability to speak and dialed 911.
"Hey it'll be okay i promise." his hand brushed against my forehead as he pushed my hair back. I closed my eyes and started to drift off into a sleep.

"Hey sweetie." I woke with brilliant green eyes looking at me. I looked over at the blinding sunlight seeping through the curtains and I realized I was laying in a hospital bed. I suddenly had an urge to escape. My heart started to race as I looked at the tube in my arm which was inserting a liquid into my vein. I stood up fast and ripped the tube from my arm, but was stopped from any further damage by a gentle, yet stern hold on my shoulder.
"It's okay Mary. Relax." Mitchelle lowered me back down onto the bed and sat down beside me.
"I suppose you wanna know what happened?"
"Of course I want to know what happened! One minute I feel like I can't breathe and the next I'm connected to machines and there are tu--"
"I know, I know. It's alright." His voice was soft and gentle despite the tone I had been using to talk to him with.
"They took out the microchip so hopefully our trips won't be as.. exciting."
