The Jameson's had just moved to a new town after an accident involving the young daughters powers. But the move for Dallas wasn't as terrible once she met her new best friend. He just happened to be the neighbors youngest son. After their meeting, the two were pretty much joined at the hip and have been for nearly four years.

The two were currently laying under a shade tree in young Dallas' backyard watching the clouds roll by. The little boy at her side cracking a joke making her laugh, covering her face with her hands in attempt to hide the light purple shade she was turning. All which of was made worse as he laughed at his best friend who was now almost blue due to the lack of oxygen in her lungs.

Neither one of them noticed the young boys older brother who had walked into the backyard through the side gate. The older male smiled at the sight of the two, knowing he and the Professor would most likely be taking Dallas to the school for the gifted.

But Alex would promise himself he would take care of Dallas. As well as to Scott. Even if Scott didn't know it and understand fully. It would be just until she got her mutation and everything it gave off to the world under control.

Dallas sat up looking at her hands as she felt two new mutations hit her like a bolt of lightening from the sky. She tapped into the feeling of both and picked one. It felt hot and made her feel like she could wreak havoc on the world if she pleased. She told Scott to watch and they ran to the side of the house and into the garage where she blew up her dad's punching bag he had hanging up in a corner with a plasma charge from her hand.

Alex followed the two, getting there just in time to see what she was showing his brother. His heart dropped. She blew up a punching bag with a plasma charge. Just like Alex could.

Dallas felt someone behind them as the warm feeling she felt with this mutation became a burning hot sensation. She turned looking behind them seeing the older Summers boy, giving him her full attention as she ran over to him. She wrapped her arms around Alex, only standing to the height of his hip.

The quick action made Scott give her a confused look before acknowledging his older brother and running over to the man, following Dallas' motions. Scott stood a little taller than Dallas, but still stood to the height of about Alex's hip, like Dallas.

"Hey guys!" Alex put on a fake smile looking at the two.

"Hey Alex!" They both smiled back up at him with giggles.

"Scotty, mom wants you home." Alex told his brother. Their mom understood why Scott couldn't be there while Alex and the Professor took Dallas away to the school. Scott didn't question it, just hugged his best friend.

"See you later Dali, I love you." Scott said running through the side gate Alex had walked through a few minutes prior, going back home. Once Scott left, Alex looked down at the little girl.

"Your mom and dad want you to meet someone inside." Alex informed the girl.

"I know. I've heard him in my head before. Are you going to take me away? Away from mommy and daddy?" She quieted, beginning to cry. "Away from Scotty?" She began to let out a small sob. "Is it because I hurt daddy and the last house? I didn't mean too. It was an accident."

Young Dallas didn't understand what she had done wrong. The little girl crumbling in front of Alex as the water works started.

"Dali, you're not in trouble. If anything its the opposite." Alex says picking the little girl up and started walking to the back porch of her house. "I promise you aren't in trouble."

Alex walked inside and sat with the girl in his lap. She stayed in Alex's there, hiding her face in his chest not looking at either of her parents. Nor the other man sitting in a wheelchair at the end of the couch.

Hello Dallas. I'm Charles Xavier, we've talked a few times, remember?

She looked at him, shivering slightly at the cool voice in her head. Nodding her head in agreement, she looked up at Alex from where her head now rested on his shoulder. He just gave her a comforting smile and a nod of the head.

After a long conversation with the Jameson's about Dallas staying at the school for the gifted, the Professor and Alex left with Dallas and got into a car. Dallas sat in the backseat, watching out the window watching the passing scenery. Sometimes she would tap into Charles' mutation, quietly talking to Alex internally as he drove. The first time Dallas did, it made him swerve into another lane and almost hit a passing car.

"Everything okay, Alex?" Charles had questioned looking at the younger man.

"Yes, sorry Professor." Alex says glancing back at the younger girl who smiled sheepishly at him.

Sorry. Can you not tell Scott? He'd worry too much and I don't want that. She was talking to Alex without actually saying anything.

Everything will be okay, Dali. I promise.

Alex kept his mind open to Dallas and Charles after his response. Charles had heard everything between the two but never said anything, not letting Dallas know he heard their conversation. After a few more hours they finally made it to the school and showed Dallas to her room. It was down the hall from where Alex's was in case she needed anything.

But being there for the first month for Dallas was interesting to say the least. Charles had figured out that her mutation was to manipulate other mutations, but with that she could temporarily take them away. They found this out during a training exercise and she took Alex's mutation away by accident. He wasn't able to go on missions with the X-Men for a week due to the severity of it.

In the first few months, Dallas had made new friends and relationships with the teachers and some students while at the school, but no longer wanted to be there. She wanted to be home with her parents and be able to see Scott.

Her parents on the other hand, thought it would be best to tell people that there was an accident. That it was better for her to be away. Not wanting anything to do with something different than themselves. Neither one of them truly wanted Dallas back into their home. It was better off to keep her at the school.

Scott knew why she had to leave once Alex found out Dallas' parents were telling people she was gone, in an institution, or the least damaging, boarding school. He began keeping Scott in the loop on how Dallas was doing when he went home for a while or called to check in on his family.

But the one major thing Scott missed most being around Dallas, was seeing the look on her face when she would show him her mutation or borrowed someone's mutation. Just to show Scott what she could do with them. Even if she didn't really know how to use them herself.

But that's why Dallas' mom called the school not realizing Alex had went there himself. That the younger man was different like her own flesh and blood. But she was okay getting Dallas out of the house knowing she would know someone when she went.
