MCSM: The Champion

Part Six

Petra's POV

After about ten minutes went by, the alarms stopped ringing and everything went back to normal. The guards were releasing the prisoners from the cells and everything continued as if nothing had ever happened. I asked Jack, "Who's Prisoner X?"

Jack said, "Prisoner X is one of the most wanted criminals in this prison. She's located in the farest end of this prison, and she has been known to escape many times. It's said she knows the way out of here." I nodded and decided to walk around the prison. I went up to Anthony and asked, "What would happen if Prisoner X actually escaped?"

"We would all be in trouble and the Admin would be very upset," he replied. "We're trained to capture and put her back where she belongs, no matter what."

Anthony then handed me some cocoa beans, which I asked, "Why cocoa beans?" He whispers, "We are allowed to share our rations around. Don't tell the Warden!" I promised that I wouldn't, then walked back toward Jack and Nurm, who were waiting at the other end of the prison. Just then, one of the prisoners took out a wooden sword, held it against my face, and said, "Don't mind me, I'm just so hungry."

I'm an excellent fighter, so of course, I easily dodged all his blows and knocked the sword out of his hands. I picked it up and knocked him to the ground, holding the sword to his face. He started whimpering like a sad puppy and said, "I'm sorry! I'm just so hungry!"

Then, I heard clapping from behind me. I turned around and saw the Warden looking over at me and the prisoner. "Well done, my associate. You caught your first inmate!" I stare at the Warden, then looked back at the prisoner that I was holding down. He continued, "Weapons are not allowed in the Sunshine Institute. Say hello to the people in the Zombie Mines for me." 

One of the golems grabbed the prisoner. The inmate that attacked me started crying, "Not the Zombie Mines! Not the Zombie Mines!" I watched as the golem walked away with him. "And as for you, Petra, I'll promote you for catching such act!" the Warden said, looking at me. "Now you'll be working in the Zombie Mines as well. Take her to the Zombie Mines."

I followed the golem to the Zombie Mines, which was located underneath the Mush-Room. It was even more chaotic in there, because the only source of food was the rotting flesh of spawning zombies. I watched some inmates defeat a horde of zombies, then eating the disgusting flesh left behind. I threw up inside my mouth after seeing the scene repeat over and over. 

Then, I saw Jack and Nurm run up to me. They decided to get on the Warden's nerves and got demoted here in the Zombie Mines as well. At least I'm not alone in this. I do still hope that Jesse is alright. I'll find a way to her if it's the last thing I do.
