The King's Broken Mate

                       Gene gives Indigo some water and tells her to rest for a while. Indigo soon falls into a light sleep and wakes up to Gene lifting her from the bed. "Sorry Indy, we're just changing the sheets. How would you like a bath" Gene asks? "Sounds great" Indigo says quietly. One of Gene's nurses draws a warm bath and helps Indigo bathe while Gene updates her charts.
              Once Indigo is cleaned and back in bed, Gene examines her and gently removes the bandages around her neck and shoulder. "When he attacked you, he shattered your clavicle and tore through your neck nearly to the corroded artery. Luckily, he missed it although I wasn't sure because you bled so much. It's still really nasty looking, but it's an improvement. Your other injuries have healed remarkably well...except for your left leg which he made a chew toy out of. I've done all I can, but use of the leg will be very limited, painful, and slow" Gene says. Indigo nods, wincing at her neck.
            "We were waiting for you to wake up before sentencing him. Think you'd be up to it tomorrow" Gene says? "Yeah. I want justice" Indigo growls. "Then sleep and save your energy. I'll bring you clothes" Gene says, leaving Indigo to rest. She relaxes the rest of the day, letting her wolf rest and recover. The next morning, Gene helps her into a scoop neck sweater, jeans, and fur lined boots. He gives her crutches and slips her feeding pump into a small backpack, zipping it up and putting it on her back. Indigo braids her hair to one side of her head, revealing the extensive scarring caused by the abuse. Gene and two warriors escort Indigo across the territory to the sentencing square where the pack is gathered. The Alpha and Luna gently hug Indigo as Tyler is drug into the middle and chained to a thick silver post, bruised and bare chested.
            The Alpha begins the trial, announcing the crimes Tyler committed and the usual punishments as well as how he is officially disowned and banned from the pack. Tyler snarls in agony as the bond with his family and Pack shatters. "Lastly, I believe Indigo has words for you" says the Alpha, nodding to Indigo. Indigo stares down at Tyler fearlessly and exhales. "You are a horrible human being Tyler. Your wolf deserves so much better than you. I, Indigo Lawson on this day in the eyes of the Moon Goddess herself, do so accept the rejection of Tyler Burns as my soulmate and cut any and all ties with his soul. So be the will of the Goddess" Indigo says, not even flinching as the thin string connecting her and Tyler burns. Tyler snarls and screams, thrashing violently and begging for mercy.
"Oh, and by the way Tyler, my pup will never know of you. They'll only know love and safety...so rot in the pits of hell" Indigo says, earning gasps from the pack. Indigo stands next to Gene, eyes fierce and body straight. "Tyler Burns...by the power invested in me by the Moon Goddess herself...I Alpha Burns sentence you to death by rouges" the Alpha says, eyes hard and cold. Cheers fill the pack as Tyler is drug into the forest. The Pack shifts and the Alpha nudges Indigo gently once shifted. Gene helps her onto his back and he runs off with Gene following.
