Indigo and the King spend the afternoon together and he gets Indigo to laugh a few times. That evening, Indigo falls into a peaceful sleep and wakes up to a sharp pain running down her back and her stomach aching fiercely. She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, seeing who's around. She locates Harrison and Andre at the borders and the King on the far end of the territory where rouges are kept for interrogations. Indigo quiets herself and makes her way to her bathroom to shower. Whilst in the shower, her water breaks and she exhales slowly, knowing she's in for a long day. Indigo grabs a journal and starts recording each contraction and how she feels. Indigo slowly moves around her room, letting her wolf rest. Around lunch, the King and Harrison arrive to visit and are shocked to find Indigo in labor. Harrison excuses himself and calls for the Pack Doctor who rushes over with the necessary supplies. He asks the King to help get Indigo comfortable in bed before doing an ultrasound followed by a pelvic exam. "You're progressing very well Indy. Just keep doing what you're doing and I'll check back in an hour or so. Majesty, try and get her to rest. Massages can help ease the pain and relax her too" says the Doctor.
The hours slowly pass and Indigo's suffering continues. She breathes steadily, growing tired from the constant pain and harsh contractions. Sweat begins to run down her face and the King keeps a cold rag nearby along with a bucket in case she throws up. After seventeen hours, the Doctor finally nods to Indy and has two of his nurses join him. "This is Claire and Zed, they're both highly trained in high risk births. Claire will be taking your pup once it's born to get it cleaned up and checked out, okay? Highness, would you like to stay or go? This is about to be very painful and we cannot have your wolf losing control" warns the Doctor. "I'll stay. He can restrain himself , I promise" says the King.
Everyone takes their places and Indigo starts pushing with the contractions. After an hour of pushing, she's barely able to move. "Come on Indy, you've got this. A few more. Breathe" coaches Zed, looking to the King as his eyes turn gold. "Forgive me Indy, but I fear you may pass out if I don't" he warns before marking Indy. Indy's eyes widen as energy flows into her. She lets out an ear splitting scream as she pushes one last time, delivering her daughter. The King keeps his canines in her, giving her energy as she collapses in his arms. He strokes her hair as Zed moves to help the Doctor deliver the placenta and slow the bleeding. Once Indigo is stable, Zed carefully changes the sheets and cleans her of all the blood. The Doctor starts a morphine drip and Claire soon walks over with a white bundle.
"Congratulations Indigo, it's a healthy little girl" she says, placing the bundle in Indigo's arms. Indigo smiles at her pup and the King kisses her cheek. "Beautiful...just like you" he says. "Have you picked out a name" asks the Doctor? "Ivy Rose" Indigo says, starting to feel weak. She places a kiss on Ivy's head before allowing the King to hold her. The next time Indigo wakes up, she finds Ivy next to her in a bassinet within arms reach. She picks up Ivy and holds her, admiring her beautiful pup. "I love you so much baby girl. I'm gonna watch over you until we meet again, okay? You have to grow up strong...you'll be surrounded with love from Andre and both Packs plus the King and Betas. You'll never be alone...I love you so much Ivy Rose" she whispers, planting a kiss on her daughter's head. She lays Ivy down and slowly gets up, retrieving her secret quilting project which is a huge quilt with one patch for every pack member with their wolves and names embroidered underneath. She grabs her needle and thread, sewing Ivy into the bottom. Lastly, she turns over the quilt and embroiders on the back her name, birthdate, and the current date before folding it up and placing it on the end of the bed alone with four envelopes with names neatly scrawled on the front. Indigo brushes her teeth and hair before getting comfortable and relaxing.
A smile graces her cracked lips as a bright light shines ahead of her. "Goodbye my mate, my beautiful Ivy. Until we meet again" she whispers, moving into the light. Moments later, Ivy is overlooking her room, flanked by two of the friends she made in the cells. She watches as the King rushes into the room, howling in sorrow and despair upon seeing Indigo's lifeless body. Ivy begins to wail as Harrison, Andre, the Doctor, and Royal Beta all rush into the room. The Doctor rushes to Indy, shocking for the faintest pulse. Moments later, he covers Indy up, tears slipping from his eyes. "Time of death...1:23pm on September 13" he says. Howls fill the pack as the bond with Indy snaps, vanishing as if it never existed, leaving behind pain and sorrow.
Indy smiles sadly, turning away and entering the Moon Goddess' domain with her two friends. Her clothes dissipate and are replaced with a flowy white dress. Her hair lengthens and regains it's shine, curling beautifully as her skin tans and her imperfections fade. "Welcome to my home child...we've been waiting for you to arrive" says a loving voice as Indy hugs a glowing figure. "I'm finally home goddess..." she exhales.
