The King's Broken Mate

A weak pulse appears and Andre speeds up his rubbing, trying to stimulate her heart into a stable rhythm. The Doctor steps back and sighs in frustration. "Beta, please stay nearby. You seem to be able to intervene in emergencies. Alpha, a word alone if you please" says the Doctor. Harrison nods and steps out, followed by the Doctor. The King and his Beta step closer and the King lays his hand over Indigo's head, gasping as sparks dance up his arm, filling him with joy and sorrow simultaneously.
"So...you're her second chance mate...how lovely" scoffs Andre. "Excuse me" growls the King, eyes flashing gold. "Andre...take a break. Shower, eat, and then come back. You've been here all night. Go for a run to calm down" Harrison says. Andre glares at Harrison, who sighs softly and approaches him. "She'll be here when you return, I promise. You need a breather" he says. Andre gets up and pushes past the King who raises his eyebrows at Andre. "Forgive him...he and Indigo are very close. He's been beside her since diagnoses. He isn't handling her illness well...his wolf is treading a thin line" says the Doctor.
"What happened to her" asks the King? "She was mated to the Alpha heir of silver glade. He rejected her, chained her in the prisons for a year, beat her, lied to the entire pack, and took another as his mate. His parents found out, saved Indigo. While she was in the hospital, he broke in, tore into her neck, and raped her. She barely survived, found out she was pregnant, was sent here to recover, we found out she has lung cancer, she went through a few months of chemo, it didn't work. So she came home to live out the rest of her days. She's gradually been declining and there's nothing anyone can do about it" Harrison says.
"Poor Indigo...when do you think she'll wake up" asks the Royal Beta? "No idea. Hopefully, she can hold on long enough to deliver her daughter. That pup is all Indy wants at this point" says the Doctor. "Do you think royal blood could buy her more time" asks the King suddenly? "I never thought about it...but possibly? Your blood does have a lot of healing properties in it. We can try if you wish" says the Pack Doctor. "Let's do it. I want to at least be able to talk to my mate" says the King. An hour later, the Doctor starts the blood transfusion and everyone anxiously waits for any signs of improvement. Early the next morning, Indy's vitals begin to stabilize and she regains a bit of color. "This is a good sign...keep praying and she may wake up" says the Doctor. That afternoon, Indigo opens her sunken in eyes, looking to the King who holds her hand. She takes a few breaths before smiling and he smiles back, placing a soft kiss on her head. "Your wolf...he's really sweet. He comforted Violet" she says quietly. "He and I love you dearly Indy. We may have just met you yesterday, but we're so in love with you already. Your eyes are magnificent by the way" says the King.
