The King's Broken Mate

The Pack howls rowdily, calling out for the most vicious of rouges whom live nearby. Two massive black wolves run into the area soon after, followed by multiple other rouges. "What brings you out here Alpha Burns" asks the talker of the two black wolves, shifting into his human skin. "Tyler is no longer a part of my bloodline or pack. He rejected, raped, and tortured his mate for a year, deceived the whole pack, and then refused to confess. I've sentenced him to death by rouges. I knew your group would love a good toy" says Alpha Burns. "She is his mate I assume" says the man, looking at Indigo's battered body. Indigo nods, hiding her pain.
"I promise to make him suffer the worse death of all. Even rouges like us would never reject or hurt our mates. It is our most ancient law...I also vow that all rouges shall protect you hence forth little one. Now...as for you" says the man, returning to his massive wolf form and turning to the now retreating Tyler. Growls fill the clearing as the rouges corner Tyler, slowly closing in on him. His screams of agony make the Pack cheer and Indigo pales, the scent of blood making her very weak and nauseas. "Shit! Hey, Indy. Stay awake sweetie. Look at me" urges the Alpha, noticing Indy getting paler and paler. She starts convulsing and Gene races her back to the Pack, getting her on an iv and trying to figure out why she became so ill.
Gene lays a cold rag on her head when he takes her temperature and curses like a sailor as she gets weaker and weaker. "What the hell is happening" demands the Alpha? "I don't know! She just started getting really weak really quickly" Gene replies, gasping as Indigo starts to shift into her medium sized grey wolf. "Geez Indy, you scared us to death. Feel better" Gene asks? Indigo exhales, closing her eyes. "Get some sleep" Gene says, dimming the lights. The next morning, Indigo is given a suitcase of clothes and toiletries as well as a passport and plenty of money to start a new life with the Luna's brother and his pack. That afternoon, he and his Beta arrive.
They find Indigo resting in her hospital room and introduce themselves as Alpha Harrison and Beta Andre. "Indigo Lawson" she replies weakly, body spasming violently. "We don't know what's caused this neurological symptom, it just started this morning and has progressed to these very hard spasms in her left side. These are her files and current treatment plan" Gene says, handing over a thick stack of papers. "Very nice Gene. We'll make sure she receives appropriate care" Harrison promises. Andre gently picks up Indigo, carrying her outside to their SUV. As soon as they cross the pack border, Indigo relaxes and is fast asleep while her wolf works on healing her. Andre chuckles softly when her head falls on his shoulder. "Andre, I'm putting you in charge of Indigo. Help her get settled in and acquainted. Make sure no harden comes to her or the pup. Maybe you two can strike up a friendship...I can see that you have some sort of feeling for her"Harrison says. "Yes sir. And I do. I feel very protective over her and like I need to be near her" Andre says. "Good, you're the only one I trust. She'll be staying in the two bedroom cottage near the river. It's nice and peaceful there, plus she'll have privacy while being close enough to keep an eye on" Harrison says.
